Hi
If draft order doesn't change and SA doesn't get lucky enough to land a top 3 pick
Would you do Orlando 1RP ( top 3 pick) for D vassell+ SA 1RP (7th pick)?
Thx

Hi cedric and welcome!
Hmm, interesting. Devin happens to be my favourite current young Spur. Each time I picked one previously - Patty, Derrick - it didn't work out so well for my fandom lol
I haven't yet made a deeper dive into this year's draft crop, but from the look so far into the top three - Chet, Jabari, and Banchero - for me it would have to be a top two to consider moving Devin, and even then, it depends on who slips.
I'm leaning far more towards Chet and Jabari than Banchero - lower ceiling, not a fan of his D. Some mocks have the latter at 5 at the moment, and Ivey - another guard! - is projected s the third pick. We're in BPA mode so perhaps if we covet Ivey and all he brings it's worth two lotto picks? But I also really like Keegan Murray who is projected around 7th right now. So the question is: will Ivey be the type who is worth Devin and projected Murray -- for us?
But that's without looking more into the draft prospects at this point. Maybe someone reading this is like 'Ivey's THE one!' and I have no idea.
In that context, right now unless it's the projected top two who I think are game changers I am leaning against it as I like our guards (and we just drafted two more in last year's draft) and I like Murray. Make it top two and it's a different conversation, a harder choice.

Re: Draft Trade
Well after watching one full game of Chet and one full game of Banchero, I'm now somewhat of an expert in college basketball.
I'd therefore like to amend my previous inexperienced statement about Banchero and Chet. The latter may still have an impact in the NBA if he somehow adjusts to its physicality, but Banchero definitely belongs in the top tier conversation. If he somehow slipped to fifth and we somehow moved up to it, this would be an amazing scenario for us.
But if another team offered that trade? We'd surely have to think about it, yes? And this from someone who LOVES Devin and his game.
Glad I'm not the one making decisions!

Holmgren I wouldn't touch. Not unless you want to stash him somewhere for 5 years and see if he turns into something.
Banchero is a man playing with boys but in the NBA, won't have that advantage.
Its really not going to matter because my lottery plan is being blown up by the Lakers and we are going to back in to the play in and get jail-sexed then stuck with a 9-12 pick
IDK if Orlando would still want to do a #3 for #9-12 + Vassell

Yeah I was shocked at two things - one, he still found a way to get a near double double with some effective rim protection on what was probably his worst college game; two, he can easily get bodied by even college guys. People say his body type is like Giannis just before he came into the league, but Alphabet was like 3-4 inches shorter. Or they compare his body type to KD, but Chet's muscles somehow look concave. I get it, he's wiry, but my goodness unless there's some Captain America program we're installing into the new practice facility complex being build (hey, it is in conjunction with health facilities) I really wonder who we'd choose if we had the #1 pick.
Banchero impressed me with his quick decisions, polished O game, and footwork. He was also unselfish in his distribution. He'll only get stronger and better. He's not the quickest, but is fundamentally sound (three-way scorer) and smart, which makes up for a lot of deficits.
That leaves Jabari Smith whose shot abandoned him and was nullified. But I've seen less of him than the other two.
Banchero found ways to contribute beyond scoring, and he wasn't nearly the defensive liability I'd expected. Big, polished and smart. We could do far worse than that as a foundation -- IF we get even a whiff at him. His stock will likely rise with his March Madness performance from dropping to around 5.
"... get jail-sexed..." lmao
I guess it depends on who the Magic have their heart set on with whichever pick they land...
Lots of variables still in the air.
