Monday morning. Fine form lol
lmao
Nodding along...
EDIT to add:
Tom Petrini posted all the full Media Day interviews in the article link below. Most of them except Pop's have been posted on Spurs YouTube:
https://www.kens5.com/article/sports/nba/spurs/coach-popovich-spurs-talk-expectations-and-opportunities-rebuilding-season/273-fbd4e6bf-28f4-45e6-81c8-05e3ce78034eHere's Pop's full interview. You can't really hear the questions so you have to make out the context by the answer. Hopefully there will be Qs included for all of the videos:
(Why does Pop have another cut or injury on his face?)

Moxie. I like it.
Primo really comes across as more poised and wide beyond his years. Sneaky good year incoming...
Crazy!

Svelte Wilder incoming:
Still can't believe how we lucked out with Keldon as our pick.

Easy pick for new fan favourite this season:
Sprinkles! Hahaha!
I'm already taking back my initial hesitations of drafting Jeremy and he hasn't played a minute yet!
Love the character/personality/competitive spirit fit with the existing group and the rookies.

And finally, introducing our longest-tenured Spur. Crazy, right?!
Very happy he's with us for as long as he's with us. Whether we re-sign Jakob or trade him for what we want, I'm good either way. He's been steadily improving, is a defensive rock, and is a balanced person. All needed for such a young team.
(Wish he'd have groomed himself for the occasion rather than looking like he's in the middle of the RRT...)

Tuesday, September 26, 2022Good interview with Blake. Not for nothing, and it was blurry, but was that Jakob behind him making like 12 free throws in a row??!

Thursday, September 29, 2022* Practice
* Post-practice yoga
* Visit to
Roy Mass Youth AlternativesIn one of their first group outings since the pandemic started in March 2020, the Spurs visited Roy Maas Youth Alternatives-Meadowland in Boerne after practice Thursday.
“It was a wonderful experience to be with all the kids and see the operation again,” Popovich said. “We had been down there before, so we are pretty familiar with it. But it’s been a couple of years now with COVID and everything. To get the guys back involved in the community like that was wonderful, and the kids were great. All the volunteers were there that make that thing go, so it was really an eyeful to see the work they are doing there. It’s fantastic.”
Blair Thompson, chief executive officer of the nonprofit, said the Spurs players were “amazing” and “took genuine joy in engaging with our kids.”
“(Spurs special adviser to basketball operations) Manu (Ginobili) even stuck around for an extra hour just to take pictures and sign autographs,” Thompson said. “That’s Hall of Fame stuff right there.”
Rookie Malaki Branham said he hopes it’s the first of many visits to charitable groups he and his teammates will make.
“I feel like that’s why this organization is so special, the work we do outside of basketball,” Branham said.

Jeremy and Blake have been more in the forefront so it's nice to hear from Malaki:

Friday, September 30, 2022I like Pop's new look (even if it was to fix an accident haha!) though I hope he grows his facial hair out again in some fashion (looks like it's on its way). Good insights about assistant coaches, leadership, and team off-court trips:
I still can hardly believe how we lucked out with getting Isaiah. Love his game. He'll flourish at the 4 for us. Love his demeanour even more. Perfect fit. Always thought he'd be great for us. Can't wait!

Keldon being back at SF primarily will be really good for him and his development.
Now that the team actually has some size at PF and more size at SF, as well.

This would be a fun line up:
Primo
Vassell
Keldon
Roby
Sochan
And then one thats bigger..
Primo
Vassell
Keldon
Sochan/Roby (who ever is better offensively in that game)
Poetl/Collins
And then you can mix in guys like Josh Richardson on the wing and Tre Jones or Wesley at PG when they're rolling.
Team I think will be really fun to watch at times, at least.
