Something that I like about Wemby, even beyond his otherworldly potential, is that he seems to be very intelligent and level-headed. He comes across as thoughtful and considered in his interview responses. Of course, a certain level of media savvy is necessitated by the sheer scope of the hype surrounding him, but even in the face of praise that seems unfair for a person of his age (for example being termed arguably the "greatest prospect in the history of team sports" by Woj), he continues to show humility and doesn't seem fazed.

I believe he's doing everything he can to be in the best possible condition for the NBA, and to take care of his body. I assume most people have seen the footage of his pre-game workout routines, and how finely tuned his diet is. We've never seen a human being the size of Wembanyama with this type of speed and agility, so it's easy to think of the great bigs that have suffered recurring debilitating injuries as a result of their size, but of course nobody will be more aware of that than Wemby himself. I think all of us will be wincing the first few dozen times he takes a hard foul or stretches awkwardly when he's in the NBA.

Of course, he will get injured, that's just an inevitability of being a high level athlete, injuries happen. He seems prepared as he can be for the rigours of the NBA in terms of his physical conditioning, but of course the pace and playstyle may be tough for him at first. Offensively I think it will take him some time to find his feet, but I think his defensive impact will be felt almost immediately.

He seems to have everything you could possibly want from an elite prospect. Maybe he really is an alien.

The photo itself is stellar and shows it's historic it is to see these guys come together and embrace the future of Wembanyama as the upcoming Spur.

And yes, Wemby is a towering 7'3 over D-Rob and TD is the astounding fact of this photo. It's amazing to see how tall he is. It will be more amazing to see how everything will come together for Wemby as he begins his career as a Spur.

lol I do wonder what the advantages (if any) there are in signing into the new CBA. Was it always like this - signing rookies at July 1?

Most rookies are usually signed by the Summer League start. At least in the last few years since SL became popular.

Article link states $55M for four years, TO after two years, which is a given:

Ce dernier devrait toucher environ 55 millions de dollars sur quatre ans sous réserve que les Spurs activent leur team option sur les deux dernières années.
