At this point, how does Pop not have any stake in the ownership of the Spurs?

And Wembanyama, 19, is well on his way to forming a tight bond with Popovich after the Spurs selected the 7-foot-3 Frenchman with the No. 1 overall pick last month following their third lottery win

"Honest relationship," Wembanyama said recently when asked what kind of relationship he wants to have with Popovich. "I've had coaches who didn't always tell me the truth and I hated that. I'm confident that when I get the chance to get coached by coach Popovich, he doesn't lie to his players. He tells the truth.

"Sometimes it's harsh, it's hard, but this is what I want."

Wembanyama also commented recently about Popovich's commitment to staying fit.

“He works out more than I thought," Wembanyama said. "Every morning, he’s there on the treadmill and lifting weights. He communicates a lot with me. He wants to take care of me. He wants me to avoid making some mistakes. He’s really present and it’s really comfortable.”

Wait... Until Keldon's contract extension starts, Pop is the highest paid Spur! Amazing. Excellent cap management. Most deserving. Worth every penny. Priceless.

Not sure if that's allowed if he's currently coaching but I could be wrong. No doubts he gets kickbacks though.

I honestly didn't expect to see this, but I'm glad.

Well deserved extension, deserves the bag. He's an inextricable part of the culture of this franchise, and will help steer it forward into the next era with Wemby.

5 more years!

Now to see how Wemby develops. Wemby certainly should be excited for this kind of news. I wonder where Pop takes us from here.
