I admit I was surprised by the Spurs drafting Castle at 4. I thought they would go Saluan and then whichever guard was available.

That said, I understand why they did it. A good defender to challenge the large guards who play at PG in the West (Luka, SGA, Ant, etc.). I just hope his offense comes around as he is only a rotation player until he does.

I was astounded the Spurs did not draft anyone to fit the gaping hole at SF. I hope they have a trade in mind even if it is only short-term to address this gap.

I am however pleased that they now seem to give the plethora of young players a final chance to prove themselves. Blake/Malaki/Sidy/Julian/Dominick now need to realize the clock is ticking on them. This year they have to show out or see themselves relegated to deep role players in the NBA.

We have 2 second rounders this year and 6 potential picks next year so a new crop of youth is definitely coming in next year.
