I forgot about Barnes' consecutive game streak. I wonder how that will play out during the season when Pop wants to sit everyone?

I'll try to hold the fort for you Grey but you might not like my observations

End if First:

Spurs 22, Mavs 20

The only reason we are winning is because Dallas is shooting horribly and Doncic has to sit because of his injury.

Of course Champaigne starts and chucks up bricks until he finally makes one then everyone thinks he is good (I have no idea why this guy is never accountable for anything)

Defensively its hard to tell because Dallas missed a bunch of wide open shots.

Offensively we have 8 turnovers already. Also we look like a clown show when Wemby isnt on the floor (Alarming sign)

Barnes got hot for a minute and got us the lead.

Spurs 49, Mavs 47

Very messy game which is expected for the first game of the year.
I really dont like the way we look when Wemby isnt out there but its the first game.

Lets throw out some stats

Barnes is lighting it up which 14 surprises me.
Paul looks frustrated when all our guys just standing in the corners instead of cutting to the basket.
Champaigne is scoring his useless points like usual (now everyone thinks he is an all-star)
Johnson is totally rusty looking with his threes
Castle was looking over his head. He got yanked pretty quickly
Dallas is shooting horribly which again is why we arent down.

Mavs 87, Spurs 80

TNT announcers cant see what the Spurs are doing over their Mavericks boners. Non stop Mavs talk.
I blinked and we were down 13 early in the quarter. That will probably happen a lot this year but it cant happen when Wemby and Paul are on the floor.
What a shock that Mavs are getting easy buckets by passing to whoever Champaigne is guarding.
We fought back to within 3 but our second unit is awful except for Johnson. We look just like last year with those guys out there. Turnover after turnover, forced shots early in the shotclock and the Mavs getting layups.
Mavs shot a ton of free throws but it was because of our lazy defense...

Someone actually said Kidd is the best coach in the league
