Good competing for Q's 2 3 4. Couldn't make up for 1st Q; can't out-Celtic the Cs at their best game. 1st Q we had only 3 attempts at the rim. THREE.
Wemby clearly frustrated and worn out. Not only is he having to play through some physical issues, we don't help him with putting competent defenders alongside him not when he sits. There's Biyombo DNP *again*, the backup we signed to protect the rim and not using at all. Brain-dead decision. Sorry if harsh. Wemby forced to do a lot of cardio after working hard to establish position time and again and not getting the ball. Why piss him off with piss poor undisciplined play allowed? Why risk not putting best players around him we currently have? Or when he's off court??
Champagnie dribbling off his foot for a TO then later telling Wemby where to go on a play is funny. So is his -13, 1-3 from 3 in 19 minutes.
Dev pushing to score at detriment of team, looking off Wemby (despite passing to him for his lone 3), not running sets to completion, calling his number in the most difficult contested shots, is increasingly frustrating. Didn't like the one and dones by him and others, especially early in clock.
Castle growing. Leaping Dev as rookie. Too much overlap already. Dev prime trade candidate in offseason.
Better team and man D.
Once again we did not optimize strengths of individual players and team schemes.
CP3 was promised a starting role so we are keeping our promise. Hopefully at some point he chooses to come off bench after AS break. We need to start Fox, Castle, whomever at 3(Barnes or JC) Sochan/Barnes at 4, Wemby at 5.
That leaves bench of CP3, Dev, Barnes/Sochan/JC at 3 or 4 or vice versa, Biyombo.
Put best guys in best positions to get best shots to win. Keldon at D late in games is not it.
Wemby, Fox, Castle only untouchables. Everyone else is negotiable to improve team this offseason, and improve it must. Must.
Can't wait for Pop to return. Fingers crossed it's after the AS break.
