1ST Q: SPURS 18 BLAZERS 33

I got home at the start of the 2ND Q. On the way home, around half way through the 1ST I glanced and the score was 13-13.

WHAT. HAPPENED?!

We got outscored 20-5 is what...

I can see why Mitch earned his tech. We're getting **** hammered all over the place and no calls.

It is game 78. Another Champie drive, another miss at the rim.

Branham proving to be the proven scorer we expected him to be when we drafted him. Alongside a competent PG like CP, he's getting all the great spot and lanes. Coupled with a willingness to absorb contact now, he's all the more a terrific scorer.

Only we could have a 3 on 1 and come up with a charge because we didn't make the extra pass.

That's about the fifth time I've seen an opponent take it coast to coast right down the middle of the court through three defenders right to the rim. And I missed half the game.

2ND Q: SPURS 45 BLAZERS 54

We won this one 27-21 after a rough start - the aforementioned drive right through the heart of our paint prompting a quick timeout. It seemed to do the trick as third stringers McLaughlin and Branham came in and quickly went on a 6-0 run.

Branham is a polished scorer. He's been languishing on the bench from poor D and not making extra passes. But the ball is no longer always the end point in his hands. I've noticed his willingness time and again to make the extra pass, the right one. Much better balance between passing and shooting. And with his finishing finesse, I appreciate a good finisher especially compared to all the misses from players who've been in the league at least as much. He's talented.

Dev rushing it a bit and getting a bit of tunnel vision along the way in trying to "make something happen". He and Steph lead us with 10 each, and each with their pet ways of scoring: Dev, 3s and middies (fewest attempts are at the rim from his shot profile this half), and also leads us with boards (5), O boards (2), and steals (3); Steph, getting to the FT line (game high so far 4-6).

Our bench only has 19 points split among three players.

Only 10 assists to 8TOs is not the right ratio balance.

Very nice D to O with BB block, Dev taking it coast to coast right down the middle, and against pattern this game, threw up a pin point alley to BB for the dunk. Smart and pretty.

Quality unc to unc action. I wonder which teams are on the lookout after this season-long audition. I wonder if we're on the list of suitors.

Dev and his beautifulhigh release are in a groove.

Champie falls and throws the ball out of bounds. It sounds like I'm picking on him but really he just keep making these plays that stand out as not NBA level.

Another Blake drive, another miss at the rim. Head down the whole time. And then jumps up last second and erratically throws the ball up wherever. Like, learn to finish at the rim already. His speed is such an asset. Drives so much. Has to make more of it.

Nothing like a Champie drive and pass back out followed by a Blake drive and J miss one-two punch.

3RD Q: SPURS 75 BLAZERS 86

Branham finishes at the rim crafitly in the end of Q sequence, showing some others on our team how it's done. Perhaps they should watch film of their teammate.

We lost this one 32-30 on too many wasted oppostunities.

Dev cooked, so that was good to see. He's a big game-disappearing game-big game kind of player. The hope is we see more of the right kind of consistency.

We have 17 assists (nearly doubling our first half total of 10) to 12TOs - the ratio is improving slowly.

KJ is 1-11. ROUGH night. Keep pushing and finding ways to contribute.

I really wanted us to draft Rupert. I think he was available, don't recall. But I see now he's... not that good. We may have drafted Sidy instead and now they're both on the Blazers.

WOOOO what a Castle man-sized dunk. Baseline turn and bullies his way to the rim. +1.
