Artest to Spurs?

Post#1 » by Magz50 » Wed Feb 20, 2008 3:32 pm

I know this had been brought up already in our trade thread but i thought it deserved it's own thread as it's looking more and more possible. Even the Celtics board has a thread on it lol.

I'd love to see Ron Ron here. Barry+ Elson + 2 picks?

Possibly Mahinmi? I hope not Splitter though. Let's see what happens.

The reason its on the celts board is becuase there is a celts board poster who is a confirmed Spurs employee. Not saying the rumor is legit but this person has checked out several times in the past and passed the IP check test as well.

So this Spurs employee is a poster on the Celtics board but not on the Spurs board? Isn't this conflict of interest? Haha, I'm not doubting you however. I had a friend back in the day who disliked the Spurs back in our younger days and is now a Spurs employee, he doesn't like to admit it, but the spurs are growing on him.

If you guys get Artest for the package they are talking about, that might be a bigger heist than the Gasol trade. The Spurs would certainly be the favorites to come out of the West, there already are as far as I'm concerned but this would be huge for your organization.

Ha, yeap, you are definitely right...maybe teams should look into trading employees now. In news today, after conflict with management, Magz's wife finally got her wish and was traded to the Rangers for second year employee Joe Smow and two development interns to match salaries. One of the interns is pretty hot and has great future potential. The other intern Johhny, has some raw sales talent, but can be a hothead.

I'd love Ron Artest on this team, be a dream come true. He'd add a lot on both ends of the court. One of my top 3 favorite players.

I am not* a fan of Artest... he is ball stopper and has alot of baggage and a free agent.

I agree TD, but I still want him..if it doesn't work out, he's gone next year, so it could just be an experiment..it worked for the Patriots..

I'll have multiple orgasms if Ron Artest is a Spur..

potential for next year..

PG Parker
SG Ginobili(just for the look on paper)
SF Artest
PF Splitter
C Duncan

that is one of the most disgusting lineups I could ever imagine..

can y'all imagine guarding Kobe with Artest, and then when he gets tired Bowen, and when he gets tired we put in Udoka..

Allen and Pierce covered by Bowen and Artest..

this would be huge..

Hi guys...long time lurker, first time poster here. HUGE Spurs fan from Georgia. :)

I would LOVE for this deal to go through. Ever since I heard about the rumors, I've been checking different websites non-stop for updates (who cares about work? LOL). Whatever happens, I hope that we're able to keep Splitter out of the deal; I think that kid's got a bright future in this league.

Welcome to the board DB! Hope to see ya post more often, hell we need as many Spurs fans as we can on realgm! lol.

I agree about Splitter, would hate to lose him on a gamble.

Thanks for the welcome, Magz!

I find myself going over all the lineup possibilities in my head...
Need scoring? Duncan/Artest/Finley/Ginobili/Parker
Need stops? Duncan/Udoka/Bowen/Artest/Ginobili

With Horry/Oberto/Vaughn/Stoudamire/Bonner filling in as needed...

Craziness I tell you!!!

I don't want to get too excited as it may not happen, but the possibilities if we do get him are endless.

i've said it for a while. artest would be a perfect fit imho. if he's not going to nyk, i'd love for him to come to SAS.

i think you guys should also try to pry away either miller or moore. you'll need another big man outside of just duncan, horry and the starting C (can't think of the name right now)
