Ooh, I thought that might happen - I'd say it's a legit possibility we get him back.

Watch Brent turn his back and go to Phoenix :P

Houston is also interested in Barry.

They have been talking about from time to time on the radio down here as well and it is speculated they will offer him some of the money they freed up today to get them back under the salary cap.

Also here is an article from the Houston Chronicle confirming their interest:

Rockets among teams looking to pursue Barry

With the ink barely dried on two trade-deadline deals, the Rockets on Thursday began moving towards two more deals they hope to complete.

The Rockets plan to begin a pursuit of guard Brent Barry, who was dealt to the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday but will be released, a person with knowledge of the Rockets

it's great to know that the Spurs can offer the most money, now we have to wait.

Leave him alone! haha

That'd be quite a turn around if Brent decides to go elsewhere.

I like the thought of giving up Elson for KT.

Come back Bones. You know you want to.

QFT, that would be awesome, but doesn't he have to wait 30 days if he wants to return to SAS?

first, no way the Spurs use MLE to get Barry back. Signing Barry to anything more than the minimum puts us back over the luxury tax.

second, no way Barry returns to San Antonio despite him knowing the offense and the guys. Fact is, the Spurs traded him knowing that they're ready to give his minutes to Udoka. There's no opening for Barry in this team. We can't play 5 guys at SG and SF position.

It's hard to think that Barry won't go to an enemy of ours. He's old and he probably has like 2 years left in him. I think he wants to go to a championship contender but also one where he can get regular minutes and contribute.

Lakers could use him IMO because the team really isn't that strong on long range shooting and Phil likes big guards.

Phoenix could use his shooting, passing, and ballhandling to relieve Nash.

Dallas could use Barry too cause i think Barry next to Kidd is better than Terry or Stackhouse.

Cleveland just traded for Wally but at the same time, Barry have Spurs connections there with Ferry, Mike Brown, and the system. It'd be easier for him to make the transition if he goes to Cleveland.

My bet, he goes to Cleveland really. I think it's too late for him to really learn a system from scratch. he's a role player and it took him a couple of years to get used to the Spurs system. Cleveland is very similar to us and it'd really be easier for him.

I believe it is 30 days. He's been bothered with injuries all season, a months break would just be a bonus for him I would imagine.

That's true. But I don't think any team will offer more than veteran minimum to Barry.

Yes we can. We gave chances tones of absurd players(Like Jeremy Richardson, Marcus Williams, DerMarr Johnson and Keith Langford) from NBDL to find 6th winger. 5th winger won't hurt us. There is long time until play-offs and Barry can get Vaughn's spot in play-off roster.

Suns wants him deadly, and he can be very useful for them by his three point weapon. Boston ould like his point guard abilities, so do Lakers. Well, Cleveland are looking any player they can get and Barry has similar name with Ferry.

I'm pretty sure that so many teams are keeping their eyes over Barry, and waiting us to turn him back. We can't allow this.

I don't quite see the room for him on Cleveland.

Thats BS if he comes back to the Spurs. Same as the Stackhouse situation only the Spurs didn't open their big mouths.

Barry and his family are entrenched in San Antonio. Barry should also want to play with teammates he's known for years, as well as defend his title. And then there's his injury; waiting 30 days would just about coincide with rehab.

Besides, Barry can't leave. Who would Fab Oberto play guitar with?

on hoopshype :)

I'm with Magz..the bonez shall return. He's settled in SA and he's become really good friends with the guys. I think he would still get good minutes because face it, he was our best 3 point shooter and it definitely helps spread the floor.

Even if he did end up re-signing with you guys he wouldnt be able to play in the playoffs since he has to wait 30 days to re-sign and in order to be eligible for the playoffs he would have to sign by March 1st...
