From AZ ..You Guys are BB Gods

Post#1 » by Christine-In-AZ » Wed Apr 23, 2008 4:37 am

I'll watch the rest of the series, but I've surrendered the idea of actually beating the Spurs ... you are the Gods of the NBA. I've no doubt, no matter what happens your Spurs will take care of the Suns and go on to win it all.

I thought the Suns had found the recipe to get past your "wall" but watching that second half...it's very clear your on the way to another title....toyed with the Suns until things got serious.

Color me impressed.... and depressed.

Hope you guys appreiciate what you have. We've been at it for 40 years and can't even get one title, let alone 5.

Well the last team to blow a 2-0 lead I believe was us vs the Lakers in 04.

We just held serve... so I think everyone needs to moderate what their expectations of the series until the after game 3.

Game 3 is crucial. Spurs win, series over. Suns win, whole new ballgame.

Lakers 04 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Suns 08 though.

I appreciate the props from a suns fan though. Nice to see some respect. I think the Suns have a very talented team, just not the right coach.

I don't know if it the coach or what, but I am finally able to admit. The Spurs are just a great, champion minded team. Don't like all the players, but there is a reason they have rings and we don't. I won't totally mail it in until after game 3....and obviously nobody needs to wish to them boys.....DAMN YOU SPURS....LOL.

I think it'll be a new ball-game if it's tied after game 4... if it's 3-1 the Suns have to win 3 in a row against us. Two in a row to make it seven.

Nope on the former, doubtful on the latter.

I'm curious what Spurs fans think we can do/do better?

Ways to attack you guys?

Weaknesses?

Ways to overcome the mental hold you have on us?

Thanks,
Mike D'Antoni

Mavs in '06 Finals choked away a 2-0 lead.

Don't think these Suns are as good, as well-rounded, as experienced, as tough, as well coached as those Laker and Heat teams, though. Good, yes, but don't think they're good enough to win this series now. Maybe even take it to 7.

I'm not gonna use the "S" word. But Pop and company are pretty impressive in close out games. Look it up.

Honestly, i thought what the Suns did in game 3 was good enough. Personaly i cringed when i see Parker shoots jumpers. yes, he's not as bad as used to be, but it's still not that good. Parker was making everything. I wouldn't bet on Parker repeating the same performance if the Suns did the exact same thing.

Either way thou, i don' think the Suns are equipped to beat us. O'neal and Nash in a pick and roll is too easy...

^^ I would not count on D'Antoni giving TP the same look two games in a row. This team was described as panicky in game 2. I think their coach is too. He'll do something totally different in game 4 and not adjust all game long.

Their pick and roll defense is too easy. Their gameplan and lack of adjusting is also as predictable. Pop will look at two posessions and figure their game plan out, adjust and it's checkmate. :-)

Of course the players have to do their part. I think ours will. I have a hunch the Suns players aren't buying D'Antoni anymore. I think they are quitting on him.

Congrats on the series win tonight. Suns showed poor effort through out series and the Spurs just flat out dominated the Suns.

Props for pwnin us fair and square and pulling off the upset, crazy how diff the Spurs are in the reg season and in the playoffs (kinda reminds me of u guys and the Cavs last year)

I don't give an ish if Hill was injured and u guys hacked a Shaq, there's no rule against that and it was a very smart move by Pop, who also did a great job exposing Shaq's god-awful PnR defense.
We didn't deserve to advance.

Props again, and Good luck the rest of the way
