I love how people keep trying to dismiss Bruce as a lesser defender the last 2-3 years. Now, has he dropped off to a certain extent compared to 3-4 years ago? Maybe, maybe not, I don't know. If so, the difference isn't worth mention, anyway.

I thought LeBron had a solid chance to make 2nd team this season... but he probably will make a team next year, with this year being his introduction season of consistent, improved defense.

I'm good with the two teams, only part I'm not sure about is Bell.

I'd love to see my man Artest on there again, but I understand why he didn't make it again because of other players on winning teams (and better defensive teams around them, as part of the winning). Glad to see he still finished pretty well in the voting, though.

I can't believe Rasheed Wallace still hasn't made the all-defensive team... 1st I can understand (even though he is at that level and would be legit if he made that once or twice), but not even 2nd...

Duncan is the best defender every year for the past 10 years and has never won DPOY. Seems he is penalized for being great on offense too.

I think he hasn't got the award because he's not flashy enough, with lots of blocks, good athleticism, rebounding numbers not amazing recently (even though 11 is)... which is just stupid, and the thing of the media. At most, glitz is an underlying factor, an add on to the most important aspects of why somebody gets the award.

Think about this... he just tied Kareem for all time all D selections. Think about that... It is a travishamockery that he has not gotten the DPOY,

Wow, that's just incredible, and even more ridiculous relating to the DPOY award

Duncan has been the focal point of one of the best defences in the nba of the last decade and KG comes in and does the same job for 1 year and win DPOY i think it's an absolute joke.
Sure KG is a great defender but as Lyminh said Duncan has been the best defender for the past 10 years and hasn't won anything yet

Duncan's amazing consistency with one team is completely lost on everyone. If he were to leave for another team (heaven forbid, but for hypothetical purposes), he'd instantly be a frontrunner for DPOY, just as Garnett did. That award, like so many others in the NBA, is a total joke. However, I'm sure that his rings are nice compensation. :)

And yeah, the Spurs defensive stats are there, the performance on the court is there, the all-defensive selections are there, the 4 championships are there...

Stupid media.

The Spurs haven't had a DPOY since Robinson won it in '92. That is a complete joke. We've been the best defensive team in the past decade and to not have a Spur win once? Meanwhile Ben Wallace has 4? Even Camby, who would have to be the most overrated defensive player in the past 20 years??

Very correct. Camby is a terrible one-on-one defender.

I lost faith in this award after Camby won is last year. The Nuggets were and still are a pathetic defensive team.

All that matters to me at this point is that Duncan and Bowen are still doing their thing for our team. Watching Bruce Bowen defend is a truely amazing sight. He's still my favourite player.

Eh... the general board dissapoints me. People actuallly think he is the best defending center in the NBA.

I think most knowledgeable people realize that Camby is far from a great man defender..but he blocks shots and rebounds. so he gets an award!!!!!!!!

I agree with this 100%, especially if Duncan went to a losing team and helped turn them around. I'd say Duncan was just as much an MVP candidate as Garnett as well. Garnett just played for a team that received more media and fanfare. I'm not so 'amazed' by the Boston turnaround season. I mean, they knew exactly what kind of NBA talent they added to the team this season. The Spurs turnaround season after drafting D-Rob and Timmy from college is a bit more impressive to me, especially considering they were the only major additions to the team leading into the turnaround season.
