Game 5 thread: Spurs @ Hornets

Post#1 » by the southern dandy » Tue May 13, 2008 8:06 am

This game is huge for us. I know it's going to be a tough ask for the Spurs to come into NO and take it from them on a huge stage but I am hopeful.
During the last game some of the Hornets players appeared to be out of sorts mentally. Peja appeared completely defeated in the post game interview. David West seemed to be on the verge of doing something stupid throughout the game.
Basically I think NO's inexperience is about to rear it's head. With Paul on the team they may very well explode and prove everyone wrong.

Does anyone else here think Paul is due for any off game? Is he really superhuman? or will he finally feel some of the strain of completely carrying his team's offense?

This is the perfect game for Ginobili to really assert himself. The Hornets are going to be honing in on Duncan and Parker. Basically anything could happen on the court in this game, we just have to hope it somehow ends up in our favour.

Go Spurs Go!!!

The pressure's back on them. Stick to the gameplan from 3 & 4, adjust as necessary, then go for the throat.

Momentum is in our favor, but HCA is in theirs. Only two games ago, those roles were reversed... So far, it appears that HCA has been the difference, hopefully we can win this one off of momentum and take that momentum back to our HCA in what should be a definite win. Right now, I'm 65% confident that we take this game. If we win it, I'm 100% confident we close this series out on San Antonio on Thursday.

I really hope we steal tonights game and take it from there. Bowen has done an EXCELLENT job on Peja, I expect him to do the same. We need TD to have a 20/10 night and I am sure we will pull it off. LETS GO SPURS!

so we'll see if the wins were mainly due to strategy, or a combination of strategy and home court..we can't win the series without a home win..hopefully Duncan gives another big game..we can't expect Parker to dominate every game..

Gotta be thinking the hornets are going to show up for this game.
games in this series haven't really been that close with scores approaching 20 point differences in all of them so i'm thinking this game will go alot closer.
I expect parker and paul to pretty much cancel each other out.
Duncan really needs to make sure he get his and try his best to limit West without fouling.
X-Factor is Ginobili, Ginobili has a big game then we are looking good.
Simple matter is for us to win this series we need to win one more at home and at least 1 game there, so it might as well be now!
