NBA Conspiracy?

Post#1 » by Farsider322 » Thu May 22, 2008 3:51 pm

I hate both the Spurs and the Lakers, because both teams seam to have the my teams number.

With that said, what happened last night was part of what I think is a conspiracy to have the top TV market teams getting what they need to be on top of the NBA.

First Koby Bryant being able to push off, bump, and intiate contact just to have all the calls go against the other teams.

Second, the Lakers are allowed to swat at the ball time and time again without any fouls called. I guess the arm and shoulder are part of the ball.
That so called steal at the end of the game on Tim Duncan is a prime example. He was hit on the elbow, to cause the turn over, and the hit was no where near the ball and the ref's didn't call the foul. These types of "key" no calls are why I think there may be a conspiracy.

Third, the commisioner allows the trade of Gasol to the Lakers, which everyone in the league knows should not have been allowed.

Chicago (with a 1% chance in the lottery) getting the #1 pick. Enough said!

Next thing the commissioner will do is allow the owners of the Seattle Sopnics, to move the Sonics to Oaklahoma just to get a new arena.

After that, a top player will be allowed to be traded to New York for pennies on the dollar. This is just a prediction, but seams likely the way the NBA is going.

Last but certainly not least is the way the officiating is in general. It is more like the World Wrestling Federation, than legitamate NBA. When is the NBA going to practice the integrity that they say they have?

When do we as fans say we have had enough, and quit going to the games? I don't that we will ever do that, so what is our recourse? Do we have to create a petition to send to the commmisioner?

When does the league punish teams for tanking at the end of the year to get a better chance in the lottery? (At least the last fews time there has be poetitc justice, or conspiracy...who really knows??)

Am I the only one who wonders if there really is a conspiracy?

The lakers defintiely had some nice no calls go their way last night, but that's not why the Spurs lost. We lost because we ran out of juice and made some boneheaded decisions down the stretch. You can't not give the Lakers credit for the win. they won the game, made the plays and go 1 up.

LOL.. Stop it...Manu traveled Kobe Travelled.. some calls not call for tim and some not called for Pau ect..

I am a lakers fan but like both teams ..and as long as the free throw line doesn't decide the games then the calls both ways i can live with doesn't mean I agree but I can live with.

Bowen and Kobe battle that what they do..if the spurs didn't get tired at the end this would have been a different game..lakers were lucky..

as far as Stern..he could careless who wins..he has had the most exciting play-offs on both sides ( minus Det and orlando) ..and this has played out perfect..

SAS vs LAL
BOS Vs DET

As far as the number 1 pick .. How about help for Memphis or NY?

"free throw line decide games"

You mean like the Jazz series.

There was some bad no calls that allowed the lakers to win at the end of the game. I feel for the Spurs, they will play 5 on 8 all series long. It only takes 5 fouls or no fouls and you can effect the outcome of the game.

I know you laker fans think the NBA is fair and all, but you have to see it from the other side. Every other fan in the league is praying for a Spurs vs Detroit finals to screw over Sterns plan.

I don't think the league is always fair- they just got one ref to admit so much. I also think there a ton of whiny excuse makers who scream at outrage when possibly the most talented team in the league beats there team. OMG Lakers beat the Knicks... David Stern this is all your fault!

I have no idea what that means either.

And FYI, to any Lakers or other fans that talk about Pop's comments regarding committee veto'ing the trade, etc. You guys really, really, really need to learn what sarcasm is.

This may be a dumb question, but why was this stickied?

Its not like the nba just started having bad ratings last season. So why would they allow the small market spurs to win 5 titles since 99?

this is right on. there is no conspiracy here. the spurs have had 2 very tough 1 and 2nd rd series. both the suns and hornets were legit nba title contendors. if they lose this series, than those very tough matchups just took their toll on this team. the spurs should actually feel quite good right now, they had the game and let it slip away in the 4th quarter due to fatigue. they should be ready to roll in game 2.

You can't even spell Kobe's name properly, even though he's been in the league for over a decade. You lost all seriousness from me.

+1

and if that's the case that stern wants TV revenue from ratings, why not do away w/ the salary cap? then the NBA can be like Baseball where it's constantly the Yankees or the Red Sox? Big Market Teams like the Lakers, Knicks, Boston and Chicago would be in the finals every year!!!!

:noway:

please.....

Better team just won like when the Spurs got their titles, quite crying.

Stop with these conspiracy theories...

That doesn't mean in general, I wouldn't deny one, it just depends on what it's about, and these ones as of recent just lack credibility.

why can't you give the lakers credit, when they were down 20 they could have just rolled over and packed it in, but they kept fighting and scraping back into it, and you said it yourself they made the plays, you have to give them some credit for that but they don't deserve all the credit, spurs get some for letting the game slip away but the lakers deserve some
