Ian's been very agressive, looks good out there. George Hill can ball, hes got quicks, court vision, good ball handler, has really impressed me so far. Malik has been nonexistent, Gist has shown some potential. All in all i like what im seeing from our big 4.

LAMO at OJ mayo hitting that shot.

Overall good games by Mahinmi, Hill, and Gist. Hairston dissappointed greatly.

Hill gets to the line alot even when his shot is not falling...

Ian looks good... but that is expected  he is going to be our starting center by midseason... 8-)

Well I'm glad that Hill and Ian looked good. Those are the two that i really am watching since they will likely be in the rotation. Hopefully Hairston or Gist can impress enough to get a look at a roster spot.

You can't put too much stock into SL, but it is nice to see them not sucking.

I'm in Vegas these two weeks, landed on Monday afternoon and got to go to the game last night before hitting the strip.

Some things that stood out to me...

Arthur has good potential to make a lot of GMs look bad. He was very impressive and seemed to get better as the game went on. He's got confidence in his shot and has some really good quickness in his step. His stat line was pretty sweet (although the board controllers sucked at updating the player stats.

Who the hell was that Grizz guy that had 10 fouls and 2 points? He nearly ended one of our guy's season on one of those fouls.

OJ Mayo I think came off the bench, but at some point, he and Hill were matched up for long stretches. Ok, Hill didn't exactly light it up in that matchup, but he got his. And his quickness seemed to surprise guys (especially Mayo) on both ends and they would end up fouling him. I lost track of how many fouls he drew. Anyway, Hill's defense looks like what SHOULD get him to earn minutes. I mean, he's young and quicker than Vaughn and seems to have great instincts on defense to beat guys to spots they want to go. And on the other end, seems like the game is not too fast for him, seems very calm and in control. Ok, the summer league Grizz aren't a regular season NBA caliber team, but you'd be surprised how pumped up some of these rookies get to challenege a "first round pick" like Hill. He handled it really well.

Mahini intimidated every shot that came his way. He's got a good feel for how to protect the rim and help side for his team. His first step is REALLY impressive on the baseline. I was just surprised he doesn't try to jump over guys at the rim. The way he moves, you'd think he could elevate way ovoer guys and seems to have just enough strength to pull it off. I was disappointed he didn't do this. Plus, I didn't see a lot of jumpers from him and he will HAVE to show he can hit it. He's way too quick for most bigs, but the bigger guys will just fight him away from his position and make him hit a jumper. Also, with TD on the team occupying the low block, It would be nice if Ian was the high post guy. But maybe now TD with his jumper and passing should move to high post when he's on the floor together? Just seems weird to ask one of the all-time greats on the low block to move high for a rookie. I don't know.

Gist and Hairston... Gist showed like he came to play hard, Hairston looked like a waste of time and I was dissapointed big time with that.

I doubt I'll be going to more games though. The Spurs game was the last of the night and we just went there for that. It was STILL 20 bucks! Same price as the all-day pass. I think it's a great deal if you watch more than one game. But you'd think the price would come down as the day progressed. Would be nice anyway.

Arthur will make people look bad for looking too much into the kidney problem, which actually wasn't there. He'll be a good player.

I definitely am liking a lot Hill, Ian, Gist, and Devin Green continues to show me he can play. Need to see Hairston. It's just SL, but I think things will translate over to the NBA.

Only have been seeing the Knicks game, I think I'll check out the others soon.

^^^ LOL, I have a funny story about Arthur and the kidney problems...

A friend of mine that I work with, doesn't follow basketball THAT much really, not enough to know something like Arthur and the draft position, etc. He played some messages he had on his voicemail from some Clevelnad Cavalier employed person calling for Mr. Arthur's phsical results. I coul not believe it, and he said he had gotten calls earlier in the previous week from various numbers asking for something similar for the same guy. He thought it was just some wrong number, but then more than one call and THEN he heard "Cleveland Cavaliers" and he was like WTF?????

Hahaha, somebody screwed up on his "phone number" section of application or something.

Stein: Last blast from Vegas

By Marc Stein ESPN.com
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/column...A-Notes-080719

...There have been a handful of breakout performances from little-known players like Brown since the games began at UNLV on July 11. Anthony Roberson quickly earned himself a guaranteed contract from the Knicks. One Eastern Conference executive insists that Anthony Tolliver will make San Antonio's roster as a "shooting 4-man." Some recent second-round picks have been eye-catching as well: P.J. Tucker as a very undersized (but rugged) power forward on the Grizzlies' squad and Nathan Jawai, Toronto's so-called Australian Shaq, just to name two...

I saw like two minutes of the game today.., Hairston scored three times athletically... also liked the bit I I saw from Anthony Tolliver.

Need to check out some games soon

Saw more of Tolliver today, definitely like him a lot... he can definitely shoot

Continue to like Devin Green, shooting, rebounding, and defending (had quite an off the ball block around the basket)

George Hill was pretty quiet, but made a great go-stop-go driving two-handed dunk... I really like his combination of frame, size, and agility at PG. Also I could of focused on him some more.

Mahinmi continues to impress on both ends, I really like his size and mobility, he's active and has a demeanor to him.

Hairston played good defense

tolliver has a nice build, he looks very strong, if he continues to work hard he could reach the brandon bass level.
