Spurs trade thread...

Post#1 » by Blame Rasho » Tue Jul 15, 2008 9:58 pm

Well given that we can go months without seeing a Spurs trade on the trade board I say we make one here and just think of random trades.

The one positive thing that we have going is that we got rid of the BYC label on Oberto and Bonner. Jacque no trade cause is also gone.

Think away...

My half baked ideas...

Sign and trade Delfino for Bonner with 2nds.

Javaris Crittenton for Jacque Vaughn and 2nds...

im not too optimistic about the spurs trading this offseason, but one move i would love to see it

bonner +picks (maybe cash) for krstic.

nets do this because bonner is expiring when lebron hits the market and they have a slew of big men. infact they drafted someone who is almost exactly like krstic.

spurs to this because bonner f*cking sucks.

Yeah how did we trade scola and udrih and sign Bonner to that type of money. Those 3 moves may have cost us another title. They certainly made it tougher.

I can't imagine anyone trading for Bonner unless a 1st is attached and really not even then .... but I've been wrong before. We need a player. Actually 2.

what are our tradeable assets.

Ian and Ime.
Jacques and draft picks.
And maybe Bonner.
Maybe we could package all of the above to get a good player. Even then we would have to include Bowen with the agreement he would be released and resign him.

Who would that player be?
I don't know but say for instance to get Nenad Bonner and Ian and a draft pick might get it done.

I see a deal like:
Bonner+Jacque+Udoka+one or 2 seconds for Greg Buckner and Crittenton
Gives us a HUGE upgrade at the backup PG/SG position (Crittenton can play both) (counting that Manu starts the 2)

Ofcourse, being a Suns fan, I hope that NEVER happens :D
But, gotta say, THANKS for getting us DRAGICCCC ;)

Udoka won't be dealt (I think). He's part of our future.

On a side note : read in the wiretap that the Celtics are also looking at Michael Finley now that Posey is gone.

hes one of those always troubled kids. but the pacers dont really have the right personnel to really guide this kid. he put up good numbers when he played so im definitely interested in him too.

I would be interested in Williams just due to the fact that he is um... not old.

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to San Antonio and Indiana being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. San Antonio and Indiana had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

San Antonio Trade Breakdown

Incoming Players
Shawne Williams
6-9 PF from Memphis
No games yet played in 2007/08
Outgoing Players
Jacque Vaughn
6-1 PG from Kansas

We can add some 2nd rounders if Indy feels that he is too much trouble. They can cut Jacque and have some cap savings.

Oberto for Pachulia.

The Spurs need to go younger at the center position.

I don't think the Hawks would do that and they need a 2 for 1 trade. They have alot of empty roster spots.

Probably not. Just a thought. The Hawks definately have a lot of spots to fill. They started with signing Mo Evans today. Now they have to get back Josh Smith or risk losing him to another team.
