New Team in the Neighborhood

I'm an Oklahoma City resident and a fan of the TBDs. Everyone in the entire country knows that OKC is a small market and questions the team's ability to keep their own free agents and attract others. I posted on the OKC forum that I thought that the Spurs are the patron saints of small market teams because they have been able to keep the franchise at a championship level for 10+ years without high priced free agents. My question to you Spurs fans is whether you all have felt frustrated at times with the small market tag and not being able to do things contractually that some of the large market teams have been able to do? Did you ever fear that Tim Duncan or David Robinson would leave for a bigger market? What, if any, advice can you give for the new franchise?

while i get frustrated, ive never been disappointed. the key is to find classy guys from top to bottom who are dedicated to winning, but that appears to be too idealistic nowadays.

Stick by the guys you have. Small market teams are going to find it tough but so long as the current core of guys enjoy playing in OKC you've got yourself a solid starting point
