Do you guys like him?I can't speak for everyone but I like what he brings to the team. He's a nice ballhandler and is underated at going to the rim. It would be nice if he hit the boards a bit harder.
Will he start this year? In an ideal situation he would. He's started a few pre season games and Pop obviously likes his game, so it's safe to say he's a possibility. Most new Spurs have a bit of an adjustment period so I think he'll be behind Finley at the start of the season.
Whats been the word on him in camp? His defense and ballhandling are appreciated by the coaches. He was a bit tentative to start, but he seems to be going back to what works for him.
How do the players and coaches feel about his game?So far it's been nothing but praise and rightly so. There's still a bit of a honey moon period going on.

I agree with everything southern dandy wrote..it's difficult to tell at this point, because he's still learning the system, and as Roger himself said, he'll be a lot better when he's getting open shots from Tim..

I wouldn't want him to start though, especially with Manu out..I trust Roger with creating for himself much more than I do with Finley at this point, so I'd rather see him coming off the bench..once Manu returns, then I hope Mason has made a case for the starting job..

I feel better with him on the court compared to Finley. It is nice that he can play the point. I thought that would be missed significanty with Barry gone, but Mason can play the point for spot mins and is a respectable shooter like Barry. I am just waiting to see how bad he does at the line... it is the Spurs curse.

i'm pleasently suprised at both Finley and Mason.
Mason has got a sweet shot so far and Finley looks to be playing alot better (If you discount the Mavs game)
I'm hoping though at this rate when Manu returns Mason can jump the que and get ahead of Finley for the starting spot.
But i'm worried Pop will go with vetern loyalty and give the lions share of the minutes to Fin.
