CG: Not a huge surprise here. Tolliver never could find his shot, plus contracts become guaranteed for the remainder of the season on the 10th. The Spurs now have an empty roster spot and still need some help in the front court. I can't help but wonder if a phonecall to Robert Horry is on RC's agenda.

Spurs Waive Tolliver

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have waived forward Anthony Tolliver.

The 6-8, 240-pound Tolliver appeared in 19 games for the Spurs where he averaged 2.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in 10.9 minutes. He also spent time with the Austin Toros, the Spurs affiliate in the NBA Development League. In six games with the Toros, Tolliver averaged 17.8 points and 7.8 rebounds.

The Spurs roster stands at 14.

It's a real shame Tolliver couldn't find any semblance of a jumpshot at the NBA level. I guess that combined with the emergence of Bonner really sealed his fate.
His energy, hustle and defense were all solid enough to be in the league. Can't say that I'm angry about this.
Any guesses on who the Spurs use this open roster spot on?

Also this means the Spurs are keeping Malik Hairston, who is a strong wing prospect all round. Perhaps Hairston will get a shot at Udoka's spot on the active roster sooner or later.

Exactly, TSD... and I was disappointed to see Tolliver not quite able to find his shot. Once he does that, he'll stick around in the NBA. I think this run was a good experience for him, as he knows what it's like, and will need to make the adjustment and improvement of shooting better in NBA games.

I would agree about Hairston, who I really want to see some of.

Well it had to come soon, His contract was about to be guarenteed and he hadn't really produced all that much for us.
I don't know who we will sign. we haven't given Ian a shot yet and I don't think we'll sign a wing player with Hairston waiting for a spot, maybe RC has a 2 for 1, or 3 for 2 trade in mind and we need the space.
Maybe also we are just going to sign Miles to screw over Portland
