Mikki Moore

The Kings waived PF/C Mikki Moore today after making multiple deals in the past 24hrs. Considering the Spurs can use the help in the frontcourt and weren't active during the trade deadline. Could the Spurs consider the move to sign Moore to the squad?

Keep in mind that other teams like Boston and Cleveland could be in the hunt for the guy as well.

He'd be a nice help defensively because of his length, mobility and awareness. Wouldn't help a lot on the glass, around average there, but would probably benefit from a smarter and more experienced team with Duncan on it. Definitely plays with a spark.

Offensively, he'd add a new dimension with his jumpshot and ability to finish.

At this point, I'd like to see us get him... if not, maybe Ian can get going, heh

I think the Celtics are going to pursue Moore pretty hard.

I think he'd be a good addition. I saw him play a bit when he was with NJ. He looked pretty decent there, but that could've been the Jason Kidd factor at play.

But yeah, a serviceable big certainly couldn't hurt at this stage.

It would really help the Spurs come playoff time in two months.

Spurs need somebody big, so they probably gotta chase this guy.

Bad rebounder, bad shotblocker and a very thin body. No thanks.

True, but still better than an empty roster spot, which the Spurs have.

Let's wait one more month. Indiana will release Rasho due to some speculations, and he can be much better fit than Mikki Moore.

Agreed. Rasho would be ideal.

Then we get to Blame Rasho for anything concerning the Spurs.

Who said we ever stopped blaming him?

Recent things blamed on Rasho: No trades at the deadline for our Spurs, Manu's freak injury, A-Rod doing steroids, American Idol adding a 4th judge, Jessica Simpson gaining weight, My Bloody Valentine 3D, my woman's recently developing snoring problem and the overall economic crisis.

I'm sure people can add to this list...

With the way our frontcourt is looking right now I think he could be a legitimate help. He seems to have pretty decent athleticism to get up and make a play or two around the rim, and he can definitely shoot the ball. If Bonner can develop into a passable defender in this system, there's no doubt that Moore could do so.

Looks like Boston is making the first move.

He'd provide some energy off the bench and some size two things we need.

Looks like he just signed with Boston. On to the next target.

*Sigh* We really need another aquisition. I just don't think this team is quite good enough to get out of the west, we're nearly there but not quite.
Moore would have been very nice but not to be. Who else is left out there we can sign?

Let's just say it ain't Marbs. Joe Smith is a slim maybe.

Looks like the Spurs are going to give Pops Mensah Bonsu a look. I'm torn because Pops is absolutely demolishing NBDL competition, but he's not someone who is going to help the Spurs in the 2009 playoffs.

Not off the bat. I haven't seen the guy in a while. He is still lean and wiry like he was back with GW or G Mason?
