Game 3, Series Tied 1-1

When: 8:30 PM ET, April 23, 2009
Where: American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX
Hopefully we can repeat our game 2 performance and continue to keep Dirk locked down.
Erick Dampier's already started the trash talking so we'll see how we answer on Wednesday.
Dallas center Erick Dampier has warned San Antonio's Tony Parker to watch out in Game 3, after the point guard scored 38 points on Monday night to tie their series at one game apiece.
"Every time he drives the lane, we have to put him on his back," Dampier told The Dallas Morning News. "The first foul has to tell him he's in for a long night."
"My first foul Thursday night is going to put him on his back," Dampier said. "I guarantee it."

Dampier has been notoriously tasteless throughout his career when it comes to spewing dumbness come playoff time. On the bright side, it usually is a bad omen for Dallas. It seems like every time he does this in a playoff series they lose.

Way to go Ericka! The smart thing would've been to keep that sort of stuff to yourself and not blab to the papers about it, thereby drawing attention to yourself. Hmmm. But then, he's never struck me as the most intelligent looking dude.
I'm pretty sure TP doesn't sweat this stuff. Shaq laid him out in the PO's last yr too. He has no fear in the lane.

No fine for Ericka according to ESPN:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2009/news/story?id=4091760&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlinesThe league office announced that no further action will be taken against Dampier after conducting a review of the comments that included an interview with an NBA security official so the veteran center could explain himself.
"I probably shouldn't have said it like that," Dampier said. "Maybe the way it came out, it sounded bad. ... I'm just going to go out there and play the way I've been playing.
"It's just the game of basketball. It wasn't said intentionally to go out and hurt anyone. I mean, fouls happen in the game of basketball. It's just that we want to shut down the paint and not give up any easy layups."

This game is a total **** disgrace. These guys are supposed to be professional basketball players.
The sooner they get knocked out the better, this is just plain awful for basketball fans everywhere.

What's with all the doom and gloom? It's just one game. All we need is one win in Dallas to get back home court. We shot 28 percent. That is unusual for any team. Just kidding, looking pretty bad. I am glad they didn't air that game here.

Disgraceful. I don't ever think I've seen a Spurs playoff game where we've just given up like that.

I've followed the Spurs since '91, and this has to be the worst playoff performance I've ever seen...just an absolute embarrassment.
These playoffs have been a bit 'meh' for me so far. I kind of feel like we're in a pointless bracket. Let's face it, neither us nor the Mavs are getting out of the west this year, so who cares who wins?

Pride good sir, we have no rings, about the only thing we can ever play for is pride.

Yeah I guess there are bragging rights at stake, but without the title as a realistic option it all seems a little pointless - kind of like watching a non-title boxing match.

haha this is why I love Popovich,
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=j ... &type=lgnsDALLAS – Beaten and embarrassed, their season at a crossroads, the San Antonio Spurs gathered in the visitors’ locker room to await their fate. Gregg Popovich walked through the doorway, chided them for their poor play then announced the punishment.
Dinner was on him.
Popovich had sat his starters most of the night. Now he was going to feed them, too. So the Spurs bused out of the American Airlines Center late Thursday and headed to the Capital Grill. Once they were seated, their coach delivered another message.
You might as well talk to each other now because you certainly didn’t communicate much during the game.
he always keeps things in perspective, and always gets his message across, even if it's not the most conventional way !
