Hasn't he been a center for the past like, 5 years or so? I see a lot of people saying he's still a PF.

PF all day.

Technically he is a power forward, sometimes the offensive sets with Bonner drifting to the perimeter have him rotating down on offense but defensively he is more of a roaming PF. He has to guard whoever the most dangerous big is on the other team, so it kind of depends on the night, typically that is the PF spot. It is like asking where Gasol plays with the Lakers, it really depends on the weakness of his teammates.

When Duncan and Bonner are on the court, why would Bonner be considered the center when he is shorter and lighter?

That is just the way the box score reads, I think it has to do with the order of the pick and role situations as well, Duncan starts alot of pick and rolls at the top of the key with bonner staying closer to the post when the spurs are going for penetration. Alot of the spurs game is pick and rolls and off the ball screens, if Bonner reads a double team or sees his man creep into the lane to help defend against parker coming off the pick or duncan rolling he steps back for three.

Duncan has been our center since we traded Rasho and Nazr 2004-2005. But even before then he played more C than PF.

what abt gasol?

PF even though its always debatable by some. Gasol is a PF but hen Bynum not in lineup odom is at 4 and gasol the 5 man. Under that Triangle tex always says it really does not matter since its not a "traditional offense" Your one could fill the 5 spot if wanted too.,

Duncan is and always will be a PF to me and one of the best to ever grace the court.

He is certainly a center. The only reason why they don't call him that is because Yao would always win the all-star voting. Also, it is kinda hard to say Duncan is the greatest PF ever when he doesn't actually play that position

It all depends on the FA signings.

The last few years he's primarily been a center... Basically when Duncan is playing alongside a competent / traditional center he'll play PF otherwise he'll play Center... I'd say his "natural" position is PF though...

Well, he's a natural PF but has been forced to play Center because of the team he has. I mean, Gasol is a PF even thou he's been playing a lot of Center for the past few years. No one is gonna say that Gasol is a natural Center.

It's not a knock on him to call him a center. Actually, in a playoff series, I'd take him over any center in the NBA
