Antonio McDyess will sign a two-year deal with the Spurs, sources told Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday afternoon.

The deal will be for the midlevel exception, approximately $11.7 million over the next two seasons.

McDyess was deciding between the Cavaliers, Pistons and Spurs.

Now the deal is almost official!

I have to admit that the last 2 off-seasons were disappointed but it looks like the Spurs management is committed to make the team a contender once again.

another great acquisition. I think think Sheed > Dice but this is still a great pick up.

Looks to be a done deal. Solid pickup for us, we've addressed our two biggest holes good work by managment.

Exactly. No knock on 'Sheed, but I think Dice is a much better fit for the Spurs: A quality player who will never give less than his best on the floor every night.

This has been a fantastic off-season! What an exciting time to be a Spurs fan

For what it's worth I think Dice was more valuable to the Pistons than Sheed last year.

Sheed still has the ability to have a more profound impact on the game but those days are few and far between. Plus he's prone to imploding when things go badly. IMO Dice's consistency trumps Sheeds talent.

Awesome signing! What's crazy is that I've heard rumors of yet another trade that might go down soon...no idea who it would be for, but I would bet that Bonner and Finley will be shipped out. I can't wait for the season to start.

Man, what an offseason. Dice was THE one i wanted at the start of the offseason, if we had only gotten him i would of been happy but damn, add in RJ, Blair, Haislip, McClinton...Wow..just wow.

Yes! I wanted Sheed all the time but Dyess was the second guy I wanted and I am so thrilled that we will have him. Man, what a lineup - Duncan, McDyess, RJ, Manu, Tony!!!! I can't wait for the season to begin!

Well, I'll say one thing...

It's gonna be funny as hell when the Spurs start McDyess and list him at Center.

It will be cool that we actually have someone that can rebound next to TD. He also has a money J as well. I like the signing alot.

It's a good signing by the Spurs. Will Dice be playing center alongside TD or will he play backup PF off the bench. If so then the Spurs need to go after another center to fill in the hole.

Good pick up, if not sheed then Dyess will do just fine.

Great pick up by the spurs. Mcdyess is a true professional. Amazing how much love the Detriot fans have been giving him. Shows alot when a guy gets traded and they hope he wins a ring for the Spurs no less. I think Blair is going get some get mentorship from Tim and Dice and turn into a solid pro. Much more than if we would have picked up Sheed.

NICE pickup, can't say I was surprised, you guys seem to always find a way to pick up key veterans.....will be an interesting up coming season.
