My 2010 Western Conference power rankings (1 through 8)

#1. Denver Nuggets (they were only a couple inbound balls away from taking out the eventual champs, so you have to assume they learned their lesson and will back stronger this season)
#2. L.A. Lakers (if Odom bolts for Miami they are #2...#1 if he stays simply because he makes their bench so overwhelming)
#3. Jazz (probably the most well rounded fundamental team out there)
#4. Mavericks (They have been quietly building an impressive team under the radar with the addition of Shawn Marion, which should be a real boost to Dirk's confidence level having a true second option.)
#5. Blazers (This season looks to be their real breakout year with a veteran like Andre Miller quarterbacking the team)
#6. Spurs (one of the oldest teams in the league went on a talent binge this off-season, but too many questions surround just how they can make it all work.)
#7. Hornets (The financially strapped Hornets haven't done anything to put themselves into the top tier.)
#8. Suns (Sheding Shaq from the roster puts the Suns back in a run-and-gun mode, yet past experiences have proven you can only go so far with that strategy.)

Nuggets at 1, Jazz at 3, Mavs at 4. Spurs under Jazz, Mavs, Blazers.
There are a lot of useless threads around the board but this is a total waste.
Too many questions about Spurs? Yeah right. You are talking about a team that won +65% in the last 11 seasons.

On paper, Spurs should be ahead of the Jazz, Mavs and Blazers, but more questions surround the Spurs than if they hadn't done anything this off-season.

spurs should at least be number 3... as long as your big 3 are healthy. especially considering the off season the Spurs have had.

To be completely honest, Spurs have lost their spot to the Mavs until further notice. However, I'm not saying you can't get it back...it's just gonna take some proof on the hardwood next season.

how is picking up Marion and Gooden better than trading for RJ and getting back a healthy Manu... plus they signed a top prospect from Europe (Haislip). That and the steal in the 2nd round who can play from day one.

Look, is it too much to ask that the Spurs first prove themselves superior to the Mavs with their new additions? Because as of now, Mavs are the better team as proven back in April.

Wrong:
1. Lakers
2. Spurs
3. Nuggets
4. Portland
5. Dallas
6. Jazz
7. Hornets
8. Houston somehow gets in because they are resillent .
9. Suns
10. Thunder

aah the rockets. T-Mac injured... Yao gone for the year. Artest gone (which is fine). They did bring in Ariza... who will certainly have to learn to play with a lot less talent. If the Rockets are getting into the playoffs David Andersen will really have to surprise us at the 5 replacing Yao.
With Odom leaning towards the Heat... I'm not sure you can rank the Lakers number one right now. The top 3 spots in terms of order are up in the air. But it is obvious which 3 teams it is. pretty much 1 a, 1 b, and 1 c right now.

What a ridiculous list.

No Manu. If we had Manu, it would've been your ass. And you know this.

We don't need to prove a thing. We are champions, you are a bunch of chokers.

your list is probably the worst logically put together list i have ever seen
nuggets SHOULD have won but choked, i guess the mavs should have rings.....aahhhh but they choked
spurs were TIED for the 2nd best record last year, with one of the big three missing 50+ games last year
we dropped dead weight and added jefferson, blair, mcdyess and younger talent but we have questions
go to your mavs board and propose belligerent trades like damp for josh smith and get excited
1. Spurs
1a. Lakers (if they keep odom they are 1)
3. Nugs
4. Blazers
5. Mavs
6. Jazz
7. Hornets
8. Thunder (sleeper pick)

and as i previously said, the Spurs won +65% of the games for the last 11 seasons.
Last season, all stars were injured and the Spurs still managed to reach expectations.
Spurs have to prove ****, Popovich has to prove ****, Duncan has to prove ****. I could go on and on.

The fact that we managed to secure the 3rd seed with all our injuries gives me a lot of confidence going into this season.

Rankings that bad - and so obviously anti-Spurs - should be posted on the General Board where they belong.
I don't understand what he hopes to achieve by posting that rubbish here.
