A decade without Duncan

Let's pretend the ping-pong balls bounce differently on that fateful day in 1997 and Tim Duncan ends up going to Boston, do you think the Spurs can win even one title between 1999 and 2009? I think you could still win in 1999 providing Sean Elliott's Memorial day miracle still ocurs that ultimately catapulted the Spurs into the finals during that lock-out shortened season.

Ok, I honestly don't know but who is the 2nd best player (no the 2nd pick) of the Duncan draft? I imagine, if we don't get Duncan, replace him with the 2nd best player on that draft class.

Uhm... We won't have any titles if we had KVH instead of Duncan. 100% sure about that.

I don't think this question is very hard to answer. No Duncan = no rings.

Duncan is a top 10 all-time player without him we could not have won any rings.

I never thought I'd see the day when Spurs fans would dismiss D-Rob's contributions to that asterisk NBA title team.

D-Rob was a massivew part of that championship side but we are not deluded enough to say we could win the titles without a player of Duncan's calibre. No TD no rings simple as that.

"No Duncan, no titles" makes sense, but I'm wondering how good the team would've been without him.

Your player development and scouting can't be dismissed and you would have had higher draft picks without Duncan.

A decade without TD would mean hundreds of children forgetting to use the glass. What a beautiful bank shot.

TMac..Billups follows 3rd behind those two..If TMac could've stayed reasonably healthy throughout his career we would've been pretty good but won't sniff no titles without the big fella..Such a shame to see such a talented player had his career cut short by dreaded injuries....

T Mac would have to be one of the unluckiest guys in basketball history. Can never seem to catch a break in the playoffs, has a 3-1 lead over Detroit in '03 (?) then proclaims what a relief it is to finally be into the 2nd round...only to lose three straight and eat major crow.

When his team finally gets into the 2nd round, he's sitting on the sidelines.

And unfortunately, this will be McGrady's legacy.
