A source with knowledge of the situation says the Kings are discussing a trade with New Orleans that would send Kenny Thomas to the Hornets and bring center Emeka Okafor to Sacramento.

The deal would be ideal for the Hornets, as Thomas' expiring contract worth $8.7 million is just the kind of contract that would trim their enormous payroll. The question, of course, is whether the Kings see Okafor as a big man solution worth the five years and $62.5 million left on his deal.

Looks like the Hornet's are already calling it a season. They could definelty get more for Okafor, but it seems like they don't care about getting any value back unless that value saves them alot of money or expires at the end of the season.

If Kenny Thomas is the asking price why don't we offer up Bonner, Finely (or Mason) and a pick. A Jefferson Duncan Okafor frontcourt would be amazing with Dyce and Blair coming off the bench.

I think the Hornets are looking towards dumping salary as well as trading to a lower tier team or Eastern Conference team.

Yeah not happening...Hornets look like they are just thinking dollars at the moment.

Would be a fantastic outcome if it did happen though

Okafor would be a very nice addition to the frontline if it happened but I don't think it's likely.

Hornets would prefer moving Okafor to the East. And I'm not sure the Spurs will be open to the idea of adding another huge longterm deal to the payroll. Adding Okafor could very well mean we won't resign Manu after the season. Too many huge deals on the payroll.

It'll be great if the Spurs do it cause no doubt it enhances our title odds.

I don't care about his historical health issues, he's had them, but has improved significantly health-wise the last couple years. I'd be estatic if we got Okafor, one of my favorite players and one of the top defensive bigs in the league, can score as well.
