As a knick fan, I would love to see a trade sending David Lee to the spurs for Bonner, Mason and a late 1st (top 22 protected)

Would you guys be in favor of such a deal?

That would be a good deal but if I am not mistaken Lee makes 10 mil. Spurs would have to give up more than Bonner and Mason to meet that kind of money. Plus doubt they take additional salary already being over the cap.

Spurs do have a lot of options with plenty of moveable assets.

Hoopshype has Lee at 7, right about where Mason and Bonner add up to

I hope we don't even consider that, Lee is a player I'd never wanna see play for us. I'm sorry to say this because for the Knicks he is just about the most valuable player you have but he is pretty average, we just don't need him.

For Bonner and Mason? Hell yeah I'll trade them for David Lee.

That puts Lee next to Duncan with Dice off the bench. Blair gets the leftover minutes.

We have Manu and Jefferson at the starting lineup. We still have Finley and Bogans as the backups. We still have shooting from this group. So what's there to lose by trading Mason?

It certainly won't be the backup PG position where Hill is awesome so far and not forgetting Tony Parker. Even in case of injury, we can still play Manu as a part time PG.

Bonner > Lee

Lee is a bit over-rated. Spurs are not running for Lee to get those 18 PPG of his...Bonner at least can stretch the floor.

I'd do it, Lee might not be able stretch the floor out like Bonner can but he rebounds at a high rate, gets a lot of hustle points and has a decent low post game along with a decent mid range jumper.

The Knicks can get much more than that for Lee in my opinion...

Thing is they don't want to take back any contracts that go any farther than this season. So they might have a tough time getting back anything more than a pick and expirings.
