Spurs forward Matt Bonner broke the fourth metacarpal on his right hand in the first quarter against the Pacers on Saturday night.

X-rays taken at the arena showed a partial fracture. It doesn't appear that he'll need surgery, but Bonner is expected to miss roughly a month of action.

"It's not broken all the way through, so it should heal itself in about four weeks," he said. "That's about it."

This is some bad news, despite all of Bonner's flaws we're gonna miss him he's a vital part of this team. I'm guessing we're gonna start seeing a lot of Blair and Ratliff.

No Ratliff, he is pretty much done as a player. Play the young guy. He is tough and has heart.

We are definitely going to miss bonner spreading the floor for TD. I expect Blair to gain the most playing time from this hell we might even have a Haislip sighting. I still couldn't pick that guy out of a line up.

Hopefully Blair gets all of those minutes. I have no doubts that he'll perform given the minutes.

When Bonner went to SA - did he keep his "Red Rocket" nickname he picked up in Toronto? LOL ... Reference to his hair and to our public transit system which he happily frequented.

I still refer to him as "Red Rocket" from time to time but I think the names kinda been abandon.

Did anybody watch today's game? Bonner dunked! He even hanged on the rim for a few mili-second. I have never seen Bonner dunk before. Ever! He made a cut to the hoop and DUNKED! I'm still like Wow-ed.

Didn't see the game but no surprised. Bonner has really picked up his entire game this year. He isn't just a 3 point shooter anymore. The guy can cut to the hoop and throw up that nasty runner he has developed. It amazes me everytime it goes in but have to give him credit for putting in the time and improving his game.

I like the guy but for 3 mil plus per not sure if we bring him back next year.

I see him do that runner thing, but I haven't seen it gone it yet. He may have added that in his offensive arsenal (uhm?) but it's far from even being decent IMO. It's like me shooting fade aways. I know the technique, I do it often, and it looks cool when I makes it, but it doesn't happen quite enough.

I read Channing Frye's comment today about him opting out of his 2 million contract. For you who hasn't read it, he said there's no way he's coming back on that (the 2 mil) and that he feels it's up to the Suns to give him the offer that I guess he thinks he deserves.

he's saying it as if he's worth way more than 2 mil. So really, what's the price for True PFs playing center, with 3 point range, who don't rebound, block shots, defend, and also don't have the size to clog the paint.

I see Bonner as basically a less athletic version of Channing Frye. Other than that, what they provide on the floor really isn't all that different. I don't see any other part of their game other than being a very good jump shooting big man.
