Do you for see us resigning him? What kind of contract does he demand?

I tell you Manu looked great last night. Aggressive, hungry, and willing to do what ever was needed to win. Looks like he still has plenty left in the tank.

If we don't resign him where would you like to see him play?

I do think the Spurs will resign him. IMO, they'd be stupid not to. I agree Ginobili still has plenty left in the tank. I would really hate to see him go anywhere else. I think he fits in great in SA.

I hope we resign him, but i'm sure that there's going to be a lot of interest in him.

I absolutely hope we resign Manu, and he retires as a Spur and we hang his jersey in the rafters. Can't picture him in another uniform (save for the Argentinian national team one). Even if he is all downhill from here, he has been a tremendous player for us and is a fan favorite.
P.S.: The guy who went 1-for-3 and totaled 3 pts might be gone next season, he has an expiring contract and alas is a poor fit in our system. That's why I want us to draft DaSean Butler. He is a guy who can impact the game in many ways and doesn't demand shots to stay happy.

I hope resign Manu too but there is a very real possibility that we don't. If the FO is dumb enough not too I would like to see Manu in an OK jersey. I think he could add the toughness and competitiveness that team needs.

If SA flames out in the first round, what's their motivation to sign him?

They went ahead this year and spent over the cap in hopes of winning one last championship.
Not gonna happen. Now they're stuck with Jefferson's huge contract and an aging cast.

We're not really stuck with Jefferson's huge contract, because he becomes a huge expiring next year. We do have an aging team, but if we can resign Manu, get back a healthy TP and sign Splitter we'll be looking pretty decent.

Jefferson is both. He's a huge expiring contract.

I hope the Spurs bring back Manu regardless of what happens. That's the fan talking inside of me. As for the contract, I don't know. I'm not sure if he'll take less (again) like he did in his previous contract.

I'd give him a 3 year 30 mil contract. I think that'll do.

A month ago I was resigned to the end of Manu. Not now.

We would be no where if it weren't for Manu. He not only makes shots but creates offense for everyone else and hustle play is contagious. Pop sits him for 2 mins for a blow and everything goes to ****.

The spurs have looked great the past month especially the last 5 games which were very difficult. If Tony comes back strong and healthy watch out.

Do you realize we are only 3 back of Dallas with the last game being against Dallas. Not saying we will win the division just saying we aren't that far back.

I just hope that when Tony comes back, he doesn't try to be the hero and dominate the ball. I have no problem with Tony dominating the ball when he's 100%, but it sure as hell bothers me when he's not 100% and he's still running a one man offense. We have other star players on this team. With Duncan aging and Tony not 100%, we need Manu to have the ball.

Tony and Manu have a great relationship. I think Tony will realize that Manu is in the zone and defer to him.

He was forced to be the play maker all of last year and most of this year because no one else would step up...outside of Duncan. Now that Manu is healthy and looking like his old self he doesn't mind giving him the rock.

I sure hope that's the case but really hard to know.

Before Tony went down, the problem with Manu is not his health. It was a confidence issue. So if Tony deferred to Manu from the beginning, we'd be having this Manu for atleast the past 2 months instead of just this month.

And there's also Jefferson. He's not hurt. He's still disappointing to me defensively but he's better offensively and that also has to be, in part, because of having more scoring opportunity.

I know Tony is at his best when he's attacking the rim, but IMO this is one year where he should concentrate more on being the 3rd option instead of the 1st option.

I have my doubts he can do that.

I think this is the only system where Manu will fit in well.

I disagree completely.

I think, for example, that he would thrive in the Suns system very well. He'd fit in with what Cleveland are doing. He adapts to whatever is asked of him. He's not a numbers guy, he has no ego. He's come off the bench for us for years and not once complained about it (even when he's had cause to).

Whoever signs him will benefit greatly from him. I just hope it's us.

I don't see any style or system that doesn't fit Manu. You can probably say that about any of the other guys on our team. Like perhaps Duncan can't play at the Suns pace. Or that Tony can't run an uptempo team. Jefferson not suited for halfcourt offense. But Manu? His game fits every style. I can't imagine if Manu gets to be the man on an uptempo offense like the Suns. He'd be filling up the stat sheet.

Manu healthy is a superstar.. and the most team oriented superstar possible.. He just plays ball, doesn't matter teh system.. he always plays his game.
