J. O'Neal or S. O'Neal anyone?

I know this isn't my team, but I still love the Spurs and I want to see them do well. I know the Spurs lack a shotblocker in the paint other that Duncan. Bonner and Bliar aren't the shotblocker type. I was think that either of the O'Neals can allow Duncan to move back to the Power Forward positions. With either one teaming with Duncan that front cout can match up well with the Lakers.
Spurs
SF:Jefferson/Miller
PF:Duncan/Bliar/Gooden
C:O'Neal/Nesterovic/McDyess
SG:Mason/Ginobili
PG:Parker/HIll
Player to sign
S. O'Neal or J. O'Neal
R. Nesterovic
M. Miller
D. Gooden
I know it doesn't look special but this team can cause some real damage

I would pick Trasho back up in a heart beat.
Guy is one of the best Center I have ever seen.

He has played well with Duncan when he was there

I don't mind Rasho at the minimum. He was making 7+ mil a year I believe when he was here. I don't want him as a starting Center, but as a 10 minutes backup Center making minimum salary, can't see why not.
Jermaine O'neal, however, I'd really love. He's not the player he once was, but he's still quite productive. Thing is, I honestly want someone who focus in on defense. Jermaine can do that, but it doesn't seem like he's interested on defense unless he gets his offensive touches. If we're gonna have Manu, Parker, Jefferson, and Duncan here, it's best to get someone who doesn't need offensive touches.
Which is still the reason I hope we go after Marcus Camby this offseason. He's getting up there in age so perhaps he can't play 2 more years, but I just feel he's our best bet right now and I don't see anyone fitting better. He can hit the jumper, rebound and block shots with the best of them.
I say no to Shaq. I don't see what's the point on bringing him here. Atleast with Jermaine or Camby, we don't exactly get any slower. With shaq, we do get even slower. Teams will just deploy small ball and we'd have Shaq playing 5 minutes a game.

I'd rather have Camby over those two honestly.

I'd take the current version of D-Rob over any listed above. The 5 is such a weak position these days.

Camby never crossed my mind at all. He would do wonderful next to Duncan and allow hime to slid back to the 4 spot too.
SF:Jefferson/Miller
PF:Duncan/Bliar
C:Camby/Nesterovic/McDyess
SG:Mason/Ginobili
PG:Parker/Hill
it looks nice on paper tho

Camby is getting long in the tooth. I am tired of Spurs bring in bums on their last leg. I say no to all of them. Spend the money on Splitter. It will be better for us in the long run.
If we could have got Camby last yr great but not now.

well I just want this team to remain a power in the west with the Lakers, ever since the Kings and the Timberwolves fell off the west had all these other team come out of the woodwork. I liked it when we ruled the west, the Lakers and Spurs that is. I just want the best for this team...

Camby has passed his prime, but that doesn't mean that he can't contribute to a championship team. Spurs can use Blair to control's Camby's minutes from getting out of hand.

Kwame's not much offensively, but his athleticism, size, and defense are valuable and have been wasted for the most part on the Pistons. His weaknesses need to be covered up on a good team and that'd happen here.
I like him a lot as an above-average defensive big, and wondered why we didn't get him or Diop within the last 1-2 years....
Haywood is another guy we should definitely go after
Getting back to solid, consistent defense in the paint absolutely has to be a priority this coming off-season.

I have to say, when looking for a big man to pair next to Duncan, it's really hard to figure out which way we need to go.
Defensively, Duncan is better off guarding a Center because there aren't that many good centers around. We don't want Duncan to be guarding Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudamire for 40 minutes. That will most likely be the job of whoever is playing next to Duncan. So if we go out and get a "True" Center, can they really guard those quick mobile PFs?
Offensively, Duncan is better off playing PF because he gets height advantage and doesn't have to bang so much. I personally feel playing too much Center makes Duncan more of a jumpshooter and therefore less FT attempts.
So who do we get? A PF or a true Center? I have no idea, but it's a question that's on my mind.
With that said, I think there are several FA bigs that I think we could really use.
Not in Order:
Brad Miller - True center, very good shooter, great passer. He's tough defensively even thou he doesn't block or rebound much.
Kwame Brown - Still young. A bust but he's still NBA caliber. I don't think he has much offense but his athleticism and defense is a great addition to the frontline.
Ben Wallace - Not as a starter but I personally feel we need some toughness on this team and Ben Wallace can be a great addition to our team if we limit him to say 15 minutes a game.
Marcus Camby - He's really old but he's still very productive. He's who I want. Shotblocker, rebounder, defender, midrange shot, passer, and still will be our most athletic big if he's here.
Udonis Haslem - In a way, I think he's our best option. He's only 29 years old so locking him up long term is good. Tough defender, rebounder, and can hit the midrange shot. Thing is, he's undersized and doesn't block shots. I personally feel we need some size and shotblocking.
Jermaine O'neal - Still a good scorer, rebounder, and shotblocker. My only problem is that I think we're better off with someone defensive minded and doesn't need the ball offensively.
Al Harrington - If we're looking to play small ball, Al Harrington might be a good addition. He can be that hybrid SF/PF we've been looking off. As a small ball PF, Al can play the position better than any of our SFs. I certainly see Al Harrington being a better small ball PF than Richard Jefferson. Personally, I don't want us to play small ball but it is now a trend in the league and almost every team employs it. So if that's what we're leaning toward to, Al is probably our best option.
Brendan Haywood - True Center, is doing well this year in terms of rebounding and shotblocking but I don't recall him being this good defensively in past years so I'm worried that we're looking at an Erik Dampier syndrome here.

Brad Miller-PF/C
Kwame Brown-PF/C
Ben Wallace-PF/C
Marcus Camby-PF/C
Udonis Haslem-PF
Jermaine O'neal-PF/C
Al Harrington-PF/SF
Brendan Haywood-C
I would go after Miller or Haywood or Brown and Harrington. Pop uses small ball so Harrington would fit in well at PF next to Duncan. Haywood or Brown just because i would like to see the spurs return to the once great defencive team they used to be. Miller would be able to play either position in the front court next to Duncan. Miller can shoot very well this could be somewhat like the combo of Duncan and Robinson, the whole inside out thing.
SF:Jefferson
PF:Harrington
C:Duncan
SG:mason/Ginobili
PG:Parker/Hill
SF:Jefferson
PF:Duncan
C:Brown
SG:Mason/Ginobili
PG:Parker/Hill
SF:Jefferson
PF:Duncan
C:Haywood
SG:Mason/Ginobili
PG:Parker/Hill
SF:Jefferson
PF:Duncan
C:Miller
SG:Mason/Ginobili
PG:Parker/Hill

We're only armed with the MLE. It's not likely we get to add 2 of those players. They're likely to be getting MLE deals.
Personally, I'm rooting for either Marcus Camby or Udonis Haslem.

I need the Spurs to get big up front. I would like to see them go after Brad Miller or Brendon Haywood
