Game Thread: Seattle Supersonics @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Post#1 » by Det the Threat » Tue Jan 8, 2008 4:24 pm

The Sonics got blown out by the Washington Wizards on Sunday, after a sloppy showing. They'll try to regroup and end their losing streak when they head to Cleveland, to play Lebron James and his Cavaliers.

The Sonics will be without Robert Swift and Luke Ridnour, who's out indefinitely after his left quadriceps injury flared up again Saturday at practice.

When and Where?

Tuesday, January 8th, 4:00 p. m. PT, Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio

This game will be broadcasted by FSN NW

Questions:
What can we do to limit Lebron?
Will we have a chance on the boards against Ilgauskas, Gooden and Varejao?
Will Durant, Green and Wally produce enough offense for us tonight?

I think you need to double check the time of this game, Det. I believe the game is on at 4:00 PST....which is also what the Sonics website says.

I'm going to miss a bit of the beginning of the game. Hopefully we come out ready to play...and Luke being out indefinately now is starting to worry me about his future on the team. Earl's been playing well, but I just don't think I can ever fully trust him. He's not consistent and is prone to way too many turnovers. And I absolutely hate it when he dribbles down the clock.

I was hoping to see Luke back, but oh well. Hopefully Earl can continue to play well on the offensive end.

Luke being out doesn't really worry me about his future with the team, as i don't think he really has one, if Presti could shed his contract and get something solid in return.

It's more that his value is going down the toilet, because of his so so 06/07 season and him not being able to stay healthy and show some promise this year.

this is so brutal, eight turnovers in a quarter is awful.

Wow. Seattle looks horrid.

I pray that Wally, Petro, Watson, and Ridnour are nowhere near this team next year...

Sup Sonic fans, Cavs fan here with a question..

When the NBA was doing the championship week, and retro uniforms, did you guys ever wear your late 70's 80' 90's uniforms ??

Those might just be my favorite jerseys of all time, so I was just wondering..

Best of luck tonight, and hopefully everyone stays healthy...

I really like Jeff Green but I really hope our draft picks this year know how to shoot.

Twisted his ankle... Didn't look serious at all. He walked off on his own power, and jogged on it initially afterwards...

They took him out for precautionary measures, and to get the ice on it to combat the swelling..

New Flash Damien Wilkins still stinks!

He absolutely stunk on the court tonight.

Lets pray he actually opts out of his contract. At the beginning of the season I thought there would be no way he wouldn't opt out. Now I'm thinking he'd be out of the league if he did opt out.

Here are the starting five's points for tonight.

Durant 24 (Not bad)
Thomas 8
Green 6
Watson 3
Nick 2

Our starters not including Durant accounted for a grand total of 19 freakin points. Are you kidding me? 4 starters for 19 points combined. Absolutely gross. That has to be some sort of record.

I wonder how PJ is feeling these days?

I wonder if the players are tuning him out?

i dont think so wiff. i just dont think the talent is really there, thats all.
i mean four fifths of the current starting five probably would not be starting for most other teams.

With the way he's been playing as of late i really doubt that.
I mean, there are a lot of guys out there for the veteran minimum that could give you the same production and that's why i really doubt that any team pay what he earns on his current contract.

No one is tuning him out, we're just not talented and/or mature enough to get consistant production out of our players.
It's also obvious that we really need another scorer(you see how much we even miss Wilcox right now) to take some pressure off of Durant's shoulders, cause opposing teams are just throwing everything at the kid, knowing that stopping/limiting him means shutting down the Sonics.

BTW: I don't think that the guys are tuning out PJ, but i'm still wondering some about the last couple of games i saw, cause it seems to me that we don't push the ball at all anymore and being as horrible of an half court offensive team as we are, that really kills us.
