I've always felt that Ridnour has been given the benefit of the doubt due to his whiteness. I can somewhat understand because its natural to compare players to past successes at their positions and there have been a number of successful white point guards. Also you can't deny the fact that Luke is kind of a hometown guy which garners him some support.
HOWEVER, Luke sucks. Luke has always sucked. Why do people continue to support him? In my opinion it's the great white hope idea.
Here's a couple of quotes from Larry Bird:
"As far as playing, I didn't care who guarded me - red, yellow, black. I just didn't want a white guy guarding me, because it's disrespect to my game."
"But it is a black man's game, and it will be forever."
HOWEVER, Luke sucks. Luke has always sucked. Why do people continue to support him? In my opinion it's the great white hope idea.

Honestly I could care less about the color of Luke's skin. Their are plenty of black guys out there who play hoop who don't have half of Ridnours game.
But I think the rest of it, is spot on. The FG%, lack of D, Luke not wanting to shoot the ball.
He rarely trys to beat his man off the dribble and when he does, it obvious he is looking to kick it out.
But I'm guilty of wanting Luke to succeed, but how many times can you bang your head against the wall before it starts to hurt? I must have one thick skull because at the start of every season I keep thinking Luke is finally going to be able to put on his own jock strap this season without anyone elses help.
Personally I keep holding out for Luke that somehow his offense will bloom to the point where you can justify him minutes although the guys defense sucks.
I still think Luke has above average court vision and is a good passer but that's pretty much where the rest of his game ends at the NBA level, and that's simply not enough.
It's not like his shot has improved a ton since he came into the league.
Can anyone come up with one area of his game that has had significant improvement since he was drafted?
