West should have been able to contribute more this season. I was surprised that he hasn't (although the reasons for this have been mentioned in the thread).

Despite that, the coaching staff doesn't appear to think highly of West. Time to let him move on.

I would imagine the pick would be lotto protected, just because of that. West really isn't worth a lottery pick IMO, so I doubt Denver would gamble on that given how crazy the west has been this year.

Unless we plan on packaging some of these picks and/or trading them for future picks, I just don't see the point. If I'm Seattle I ask for a pick a few years from now when Denver likely won't be as successful....

My guess is that we cash in the Phoenix pick and whatever else we have after the deadline to trade up as far as we can. If Rose is gone when we pick, then we can take the BPA as opposed to having to reach for a PG, and then take a PG with the other pick.

Getting a first round pick of any kind for West is a good deal IMO. Either he is persona non grata here, or he just hates Seattle, but he hasn't done anything for this team.

And West is totally a George Karly player. George loves gamers who do not fit the traditional mold. Vincent Askew anybody?

Why should West hate Seattle?
It just didn't work out for him, but you've got to understand him somehow, cause being stuck behind Watson and Ridnour and not getting any run has to be frustrating for anyone.

BTW: You're right, Delonte really is a George Karl player. I think he would fit in well next to Iverson.

Reading what he had to say in the article the other day he doesn't sound to happy in Seattle.

Delonte is in a contract year and he hasn't been given much playing time. He is better than he has shown this year. Sending him to Denver would be a win for everyone. Seattle cannot settle on whether Ridnour or Watson is their best PG. Delonte just makes the situation more confusing. Cut him some slack.

West has never felt welcomed in Seattle. West isn't a pass off to the jump shooter on the wing type of point guard. he is much better as a scorer and then passer like a Tony Parker.

He said he still hasn't unpacked since being in Seattle meaning that Seattle might just let him go or they planned on trading him somewhere else for a draft pick.

The trade would definitely help out Delonte as he would get 20-25 minutes per game up in Denver with even having a chance to start over Anthony carter. An Iverson/DWest back court would be exciting.

He has not gotten a fair shake here at all as a point guard. he started a few games early on and then thats it. He has gotten 15-25 minutes per game as a backup player if that on some nights.

He is injury prone so maybe that is why they haven't been playing him much to keep him healthy so that they could trade him.
Kwame Brown is servicable, get over it.
