I'm starting to think you take Beasley at No. 1 regardless

Well, I just don't think Mayo will be there at number 5, but you're right... we would be psyched if he falls. I would say Gordon, Batum, Westbrook, or Randolph all come to mind at five, and the only guy I really like out of that group is Westbrook. If we get number five, I say we package it and try to move up.

In this draft, we either take Beasley, Rose, Bayless, or trade down

If Miami ends up at no. 2 and the Sonics at no 5 in the draft, are you willing to trade Green, Wilcox, Marshall & Griffin for Marion & swap of picks?Det the Threat wrote: I'm still on the Derrick Rose bandwagon and no matter who's still available when we pick, we've got to take him, if he's still available at that spot.
So if we do end up with that #1 pick(which i don't really see happening) then i'd be all for Rose.
Now i wouldn't mind if we'd take him and look to trade up with that Suns Pick + Wilcox to find some pg help.
Or, we could even use Green and trade him for another high lottery pick, which we then could use for Bayless or Mayo.

I guess Collison can play both PF and Center concurrently since we just traded away all of our power forwards for what I assume is a third point guard (Rose) who will sit the bench for a year. There is no way Presti wants a 30 year old Marion on this team and no way he trades two 5 picks plus Wilcox and expirings for a guy who is likely to be a free agent (Marion) just to move up for a kid like Rose that is all promise and no production. This is nuts.

Not really.
I've said that we could trade Green, if we do land Beasley, so we could add another higher lottery pick, that we could use on someone like Bayless or Mayo.
You're suggesting us taking on a one year rental in Marion(we don't need to kidd ourselves, cause he'd be gone in 09), who'd also not fit next to Durant and Beasley, cause they both play his positions, and that #2 pick, for Green(who alone is worth a lottery pick) our starting power forward(Wilcox) and, our own pick and expirings.
That's just way too much to give up, just to move up those 3 spots. I'd rather keep that #5 pick and use it on Bayless, Mayo or even Eric Gordon.
