Beno Udrih

I read somewhere that if we went big in this draft we'd look to free agency to grab a young starter at point. I actually really like the idea of getting Udrih since he shoots well, passes well and runs the floor all while playing defense. Sure he's a role player but that's all you need out of a pg right?

What are your guys thoughts?

My thoughts are that there will be some stupid GM that offers Udrih the full MLE over the next 3 - 5 yers(or something close to it) and i hope it's not us, cause he's a nice back up, but nothing more.

I thought that he would have been a good player to PG last summer when it was clear that he had no future in San Antonio. (I think I said so on this board.) Minnesota got him for a steal, but then stupidly let him go. Sacramento, in turn, got the steal. But, yes, at this point he is going to be overpaid. So, he it is probably not a good idea.

Im not sure I read this might have been ESPN but they said if we take a big that we might look at Udrih or Earl Boykins at PG next year. I dont think thats going to help us out at all, did Boykins even play last season?

Boykins would be a terrible acquisition. I even thought he was terrible when he peaked in Denver. But, yes, Boykins actually did play last year. If I remember right, he sat out most of the year and then signed with Charlotte during the second 1/2 of the season.
