I guess we traded Kaun's rights to the Cavs for cash. That was a waste of a pick.

I think the cash received should be donated to Save our Sonics.

I don't have much of a problem with the Westbrook pick. It's true that he can't shoot, but he can get to the basket and run the point better than a lot of people seem to think. UCLA didn't miss a beat when Collison was injured and Westbrook stepped in at PG. With his athleticism and defensive ability, he should be a solid player and a pretty safe pick overall.
I don't like the Ibaka pick at all. I watched the Nike Hoop Summit, and Alexis Ajinca looked far more impressive than Ibaka, both as a raw athlete and as a basketball player. This is the same Alexis Ajinca that barely put up Nikoloz Tskitishvili type numbers in France. Saer Sene was more impressive than both Ajinca and Ibaka when he played in the game a couple of years ago, if that tells you anything.
Anyway, I would have taken Darrell Arthur over Ibaka at 24 in a heartbeat.
The rest of the draft was okay. DJ White is not the player he was before knee injuries got him, but he should be able to stick and contribute something inside. He's a tough player with a reasonable skill level. Hardin was good value for a mid 2nd round pick. Kaun is probably going to play in Russia, but late 2nd rounders rarely make the team anyway and there wasn't much left on the board, so who cares.

Okay, I'm late to the thread and just catching up now. I'll admit... I laughed.

Here's Jeff Green's reaction of our #4 pick at his Draft Day Party, not too encouraging.
How can he have this look on his face, when KD was so happy? Weird.

Gp did not have a jump shot but do we complain now?
Kemp was Raw.... Ibaka .. raw ... did we complain during the 91-96
White ?
why not Jordan ... lazy doesn't want to work out Character issues
cannot change character issues
Hardin .... works hard

I couldn't help thinking Durant knew the cameras were on him and broadcasting his image all over the country. He did what anyone would do, which is clap and smile.
On the other hand, it's hard to tell what exact moment the Green picture comes from. Maybe he was just tired. But frankly, that's also the look that I had, watching at home on my TV (delayed on TiVo). It doesn't mean I hated the pick, but I just couldn't summon any thoughts other than "huh." Come to think of it, it's the same look I had on my face last year when I heard Green was the guy we were getting for Ray Allen... no offense to Green.

lol that's true. But my look was more like a look of complete and utter anger and disbelief.

.
Someone off the screen asked him what he thought of the pick, and I could read what he said. Wasn't a planned interview or anything..just spontaneous 'I like the pick'
