Charlotte Fans to Sonics Fans

I really feel horrible for the fans in Seattle who actually gave a damn about the Sonics, but the fact of the matter is that the Sonics were the only professional sports franchise to give the city of Seattle a championship, but somehow the Seahawks and Mariners got priority on new stadiums and when the Sonics came knocking...the city turned them down; just like in Charlotte (except obviously the whole championship thing).

I know all about this stuff being a Hornets back then and a Bobcats fan now and what the city of Charlotte had to endure during the time frame of the Hornets leaving and the Bobcats expansion team being awarded. I tell you what folks, the city of Charlotte gave the Hornets so much grief over a new stadium, like the Sonics situation, and they were forced to move just like the Sonics are right now. The positive is that maybe this will wise up the city of Seattle into getting the stadium the potential franchise deserves to have; when the Hornets left, it really sped up the process here in Charlotte. In my personal opinion, I think they just should've let the Sonics name move on along with the Oklahoma City franchise because I know that (as a fan) if the city of Charlotte would've kept the Hornets name and they were to come back that it would be a very awkward situation. Sure, the Hornets "name" is back, but it just wouldn't be the same.

I will say this...If Seattle gets a franchise again and you do want to be a fan of theirs...BE PATIENT! It has been a nightmare so far in Charlotte and it takes time to build a winner in this league except for rare exceptions. We decided to build on youth and we have a decent group of talent, but no one big that can get us over the hump really wants to come to Charlotte, but I believe their time will come...but be patient with the potential expansion team as the good times will not come for awhile, but boy will it be a glorious day whenever they become a great contender in the NBA and you've stayed true the whole time.

I feel for you guys and I welcome you to come and chat some over at the Bobcats page if you want and just know that our fanbase knows what you're feeling right now and know that it sucks, but better days are ahead on such a gloomy day.

The Owner from the 90's , and NBA and City are at falt here... Poor management... We rebuilt Key Areana for $300 or 350 million

Our team has Sucked ... and we finally got a GM who would rebuild ... Finally got a future Stud in Durrant .... and we got screwed by .... all three groups

There is teams in the NBA that does not pull this many season ticket holder when they are stuggleing .....

What can I say that this guy already hasn't said? Oh, yeah I'm a Bobcats fan too, but to be honest, this was even worse (from a fair viewpoint, not from mine), because of the way in which the team was stolen. It's one thing when we were the ones that ran George Shinn out of town, and a very different thing when someone buys a team so they can have them play in their backyard without realizing or recognizing that in doing so, they are robbing an entire community of their history and part of their culture.
