I grew up with the Sonics. Once we got a team here in Vancouver I obviously became a Grizzlies fan. Once we lost the Grizzlies I went back to the Sonics and routinely made the two hour drive south for games. When the Sonics left I became a Trailblazers fan and now make a couple five hour drives a season down the I-5 and stay overnight.

I like to stay close to home so I'm sticking with the only Pacific Northwest team. And to be honest I don't really care that Toronto is our only Canadian team.

The Seattle/Portland rivalry prevented me (and I'm sure many others) from jumping on the Blazers bandwagon. Too much history there.

Not only do the Warriors have a great team, but they're extremely entertaining. Having KD come aboard didn't hurt either.

I still remember my green sonic ball ... For some reason , I don't like rooting for everyone's favorite team , bulls / cavalier's..
I don't mind rooting for the warriors especially since everyone hates them.
Yeah and I want you guys to get your team ...
I feel you guys deserve it more than some other fanbase.

I didn't even know this forum existed!

When the team moved I ended up following the Blazers, because

- Nate McMillan
- Brandon Roy
- Paul Allen was the owner (although he wasn't interested in basketball much, at least he was a Seattle figure)
- Proximity

I've moved to Chicago since then but am still waiting for a return.

No one!

I watch a couple of teams/young players but the interest isn't that huge currently.

BTW: What do you guys make of the current developments in this arena saga?
Seems like OVG will get the nod on Dec. 4th and be able to start rebuilding the Key, while Hansen's done.
Leiweke said the NHL will play there in 2020 while the NBA will follow within 3 - 10(yikes) years.
Also, seems like he's got the backing of both Bettmann and Silver.

You know my take. Prefer Sodo (like the majority). Would like to see both projects get green-lighted. However, Chris' project is pretty much all but dead at this point. No way the city approves Sodo with the OVG MOU.

I'm excited for Hockey. Even though Sodo is the best location by far.

The NBA will be back. It's just going to take a little longer than what we had originally hoped for. A timeline of 5-10 Years is very realistic from my pov.

Like expected, Hansen's arena is done.
They're now going to negotiate with OVG on those amendments of the MOU, so they can make their vote on December 4th.
It will need five votes to pass and they just voted for it 5-0, which means those five votes should be secured and the KeyArena project should get started shortly after.

HEAT (moved to FL in '96), Lakers (first love), and Knicks (born in Brooklyn), in that order.

I follow the league, don't follow a specific team, until the Sonics get their team back.

I root for the Cavs because I like LeBron. I'd feel like I'm betraying the spiritual Supes if I root for any other team on the west coast, so I'm no Blazers fan and I'm certainly no Lakers or Warriors fan either.
