G-League Team?

Post#1 » by DoItALL9 » Wed Mar 3, 2021 8:53 pm

When the Seattle Supersonics return they'll presumably have a G league team.

Any suggestions or ideas for their nickname?

Hypersonics?
Ultrasonics?

Depends on the location of the team.

Why not Renton or Olympia?

I would imagine Tacoma would be nice location. Right down the freeway from Seattle. Bring in all the Seattle folks to buy tickets and watch the Gleague game.

I don’t get G-league teams in nowhere locations. Wouldn’t being closer to a big city bring in more bucks? For example the Santa Cruz Warriors who do well with attendance - what if they were playing in San Jose instead? Big city and more accessible for the entire Bay Area.

Big cities have OPTIONS. A smaller town getting a team like that, often times people who don't even give a **** about basketball will go and become fans. Community loyalty is probably monumentally easier in a smaller area, I would guess.
