If a guy is owning D-league surely he can get some playing time on the center depleted Sonics?

I'd let him play a little bit more in the D-League. It will let him build his confidence up, while at the same time, we can see if he can produce those numbers on a consistent basis.

Look at what he's "dominating". The d-league is full of end of the bench players.

I have a question regarding Petro: Why isn't he playing in the D-League as well? From what I've seen out of him this year and you could even go back to last year..he's done absolutely nothing. Is it because we may actually need him at C? To me, we don't need him. Maybe only recently because of Wilcox's injury, but what has he done in order to keep him out of the D-League?

He could use the extra time to develop as well IMO.

The D-league isn't the place for him to improve. He put up the same stats last season (including a NBDL career high 22 points).

im not even sure petro is still eligible to play in the d league.

Because you can only send players down that are in their 1st or 2nd year in this league. Petro is in his 3rd and we therefore can't send him down.

Ah I see. We should have had him down there more last season....if that would have even helped him at all.

Ya, I'd like to see him get some real minutes this season with the 20-25 win Sonics as well. It's not like we're going to the playoffs. Maybe once the NBADL season is over and K Thomas has been traded?

Your completely spot on! I followed him pretty closely last season and you are right it was the same. It's a complete waste sending him to the D-League. The only way he will improve is playing NBA minutes against NBA players. After Thomas is moved (and he will be) I hope we will see some Sene in Seattle.

D-league may not be ideal but it is better than the bench.

Let's hope Thomas gets moved and Sene can get his minutes when he's gone

Stampede only play twice in almost 2 weeks after Jan 19. Either they bring him back then or they plan on him to be down there til trade deadline or beyond.

That's far from dominating. A guy like Elton Brown is dominating the D-League with 22ppg and 11rpg. Or Morris Almond, who is averaging almost 30 points per game.

Well Saer Sene still doing very well in the D-League.

Slightly better than last season and very solid for a developing big man. Unfortunately I think he's reached his cap amongst end of the bench type players. He needs to see some time in the NBA to really improve his game and get better.

It's not like the Sonics can do any worse with him out on the court, so what's the deal here?

i had a chance to catch senes d league game yesterday.
here is what i saw:

he was very active on the glass. he does however miss time his jumps a lot. he is on his way down before the ball starts to drop. he had some very impressive blocks, one he sprinted the length of the floor to make the swat. he has good shot blocking instincts. he looks a little lost in the zone. he looks very lost on offense. for some reason he was floating around on the perimiter a lot. his offense is basically dunks and layups, he has no go to move. he gets pushed around when he is playing straight up man on man d, not very agressive.

all and all it is a good thing he is playing in the d league, getting minutes every game. i will tell you this, the camera angles for the game where a little different than what we see in an nba game, and you could really see just how big sene is. he is huge! and he runs the floor like a small forward. he is probably a year away from being a major contributer. but i think the sonics should and will hang on to him and continue to develop him.

His stats are not the same as last year. He is better in every category. look at his fg%. Up 12% from 51.3% to 63.3%, and his Ft% up from .593% to .684%. His blocks are up, scoring up, rebounding up, and his fouls are down. He is definately improving.

yeah, he is definately improving. he has a ways to go, but i think he can contribute. not this year, but if he keeps working, i think he can be in the rotation next year. maybe 10 to 15 per.
