This would help both teams, as Seattle gets a good post player, a capable backup to him, and a player to take some pressure off Durant. Memphis gets a point guard who can help Conley develop, a replacement for Gasol, a young talent at center, and a reliable backup in West, who I think is very underrated.

No go. Lateral trade at best.

I follow the Grizzlies on a regular basis, Gasol is not what this Sonics team needs. You'd think that the Grizzlies would be a .500 team with Gay's improvement and Miller's consistency but no, and Gasol is the reason why they aren't doing so well. Plus he has a big contract.

Gasol isn't a post player, and is a 2nd option at best, why do you think memphis hasn't even won one play off game yet? He's why.

if gasol can accept being second option behind durant, i think that he could take alot of pressure off durant

Replace West/Ridnour with Watson and/or replace Warrick with a 2009 or 2010 draft pick (top ~6 protected) and then we'll talk (not sure if that works $ wise...too lazy to check, but that makes it more appealing)...

I think Gasol is better than he is playing...perhaps a change of scene would help.
