thats great news but the fight aint over... regardless of the negativity that may arise with some ppl claiming that this hastens the relocation of the sonics this is great news... we made CLAY SELL something he never wanted too... we just need to step up the pressure.

Clay never said he didn't want to sell the Storm, matter of fact he said he was open to the prospectus of keeping the Storm in Seattle. He is all about the Sonics, the Storm were just an add-on for him...

he said he wouldnt sell both initially. he only dropped the hint that the storm might stay on the press release when the sonics applied for relocation.

hmmm.....don't know what to think about that one..

Though, i hope that this doesn't convince the City to stop working hard on their plan to keep the Sonics in Seattle, because they already "saved" the Storm and professional basketball for this city.

I don't see as a Sonics fan how this is good news. So he's sold the Storm..I don't think it matters to him if he keeps both teams. He's said all along that he bought the team because he wanted to own an NBA franchise.....and bring the NBA to his hometown (I added that in as an opinion, even though everyone knows this is true).

So basically, I agree with UZ on this one...Clay never really cared about owning the Storm..they were just the icing on the cake for him when he bought the Sonics. He has no interest in the WNBA. I don't see how you can read too much into this bit of news..positive or not.

The entire Storm franchise is worth less than Wally Szczerbiak.

If anything this is a neutral development. But I think it reinforces that they don't care anything about basketball in Seattle and that they never did.

The Storm wouldn't fill seats in OK so rather than try to make some money from them here in Seattle, they dumped the team.
