Want to tell Clay to "F" off? Here's how!

Back in the good old days when Wally Walker was grinding the Sonic into submission I use to post over at the Seattle PI. It sucks now. Completely over run with Okies and a lot of the former member got banned so it just isn't the same. That' when I started to post over here.

But back in the day a group of us posters got together pitched in some money and hired a pilot to fly a banner around key arena on two different occasions. Basically to send a message to Wally and Howard that we as fans were not please with how things were going.

We called ourselves SFU for Sonic Fans United! Say it proud damn it!

This was before Clay bought the team and SOS was created. We at SFU figured it would be in our best interest (and it was) to donate the rest of the money we had to SOS.

So time has passed and honestly I am simply sick and tired of waiting for something to happen. I'm tired of people thinking that the Sonics simply don't have fans that care.

I mentioned to Speedcat another proud SFU member about maybe it's time for another banner and he is down with it. And so are Heavy and Freespeech two other SFU guys who essentially made it happen. Heavy hired the pilot and Free handled all the money.

So we are looking for a slogan to put on the banner and obviously donations. Pilots don't fly for free, unless you are one and want to donate your time and energy.

So here is the link to a thread created over at Sonics Central if you want to tell Clay to "F" off and donate some coin.

Personally I like...

STOP THIEVES WE LOVE OUR SONICS!!!

But we are open to any slogan you want to put forth that captures Sonic fans opinions of the situation.

Stay Sonics!!!!!

Sorry about the cross forum Link Sweezo but it is for the good of the Sonics!

The Sonics will be on TNT on a Thursday in Portland but, if we hire the pilot for the Tuesday home game there will be a good chance the guys at TNT will run it Nationally.

It's actually been mentioned to try to hire a banner for All-Star weekend.

Oh I can see why you hate Howard, but there is plenty of reason to hold a grudge towards Clay.

I have to say that was an awful article

anybody could have seen that even had we kept Ray and Rashard around, this would not have been a championship contending team. We were overdue for a rebuilding effort, and Sam Presti had the guts to do it.

Do I support the ownership group? absolutely not

Do I support Presti, the coaching staff, and our players? I certainly do

IMO, there are a couple of ways to re-word that statement to make it more accurate:

We were overdue for a rebuilding effort, and Sam Presti had the marching orders to do it.

We were overdue for a rebuilding effort, and Clay Bennett had the guts to do it.

I do think a team with Ray and Lewis and Durant would have made it to the playoffs but I don't think they would have been as good as the author claims and actually challenged for a title. I have wanted to rebuild for a while now, but there are plenty of other reason in this article that gives you reasons to hate Clay.

For example he won't sell the team to local owners.

But who wants to donate money to the Banner?

I called a place today she gave me a rough quote $750.00 bucks to fly around New Orleans Arena before the Rookie Vs Sophmore game. She needs to find out if there are any restrictions about flying in New Olreans.

Home Land Security stuff.

So are you debating the point that we, as a team, were stuck in a cycle of mediocrity that is the most dangerous place for an NBA franchise to be in?

Because unless you believe that we could have contended with our roster as of the draft + Durant, than I don't see why you care where the "marching orders" to rebuild came from.

We all know Bennett is trying to move the team. That doesn't change the fact that the Sonics NEEDED to be rebuilt.

Ok just wanted everyone to know that we have raised more than enough money and have hired a plane along with a pilot to fly in New Orleans before all the event of Saturday for the NBA All-Star weekend.

Just wanted to say thank you to any and all who have donated.

Your support is appreciated.

Since we have raised enough money for two banners keep and eye out for something to happen after the All-Star weekend a little closer to home.

I'm glad you brought that up Reign.

We do actually have a press release, and we have been stock piling media contacts and emails as much as possible.

If anyone in this forum happens to work with the media or knows anyone that does and posibly have connections to New Orleans any information would be appreciated.
