Sonics trade Wally..... For Ben Gordon?

Post#1 » by D' Winner Within » Thu Jan 24, 2008 3:21 pm

Before anything, I know there is thread about trades in this board but this is not just a trade.

I observe the Sonics payroll next season, that if you trade a player/s worth $12m for expiring contracts, they will have a big cap space this summer. The issue is not just the cap space but the Sonics will have guaranteed 12 players for next season (including the two 1st rnd picks). I

Ben Gordon is a good scorer but he can only D up PG's because of his diminutive size.

We thought Luke and Ray were a bad defensive back court. This would be even worse.

I just don't think Ben is the type of SG Presti is looking for.

We need an SG where defense is definately part of his game.

I like Ben Gordon and i think he's a great guy to have off your bench, scoring in bunches for your team.

Though, i don't see any way we could trade for him, without taking on Ben Wallace's crappy deal or giving away our own 1st round pick, and i also don't think he's worth the money he'll ask for.

So, to me, the only Gordon that might be on the Sonics next year is Eric and not Ben Gordon.
