The Sonics received some good news yesterday, as rookie forward Jeff Green was given the green light to return to the team and the starting lineup.

Questions:
Can we keep up with them offensively?
What will Green be able to give us in his return?
Will Swift again be handed some minutes?
Will Durant settle for the outside jumper or drive to the basket?

Well I just got back from the game and had a blast! I had great seats and got to go down and meet Kevin Calabro after the game. Earl played great and proved to me tonight that he is much more valuable than Luke. The Zone Defense was amazing. Go Supes!!!

Impressive win tonight. Ok, so they don't have player of the week Brad "Scissorhands" Miller. Still, the Kings are a good ballclub.

- E Watson played the game of his life! I'm a certified L Ridnour > E Watson guy, but maybe I got to reconsider. Triple double. Best PG game I've seen in a Sonics uniform since GP. Seriously, I'm noticing E Watson initiating the offense a lot quicker (my main beef with his game) & he's becoming more confident with his shot. Shot 3 out of 4 from three tonight. Still, I agree with the earlier comments... great time to trade him. My money's on Cleveland, Denver, Orlando, Atlanta. In that order.

- The other thing I noticed was the ball movement. K Durant has taken on board the message to shoot less & involve his teammates more. He's not hanging onto the ball anymore. Some of the passes he made tonight were excellent. 5 assists. Should've had more. I remember one missed J Green layin in particular. KD's shooting percentage is better (6-12). Five different guys had 10 shots & another had 7. The most shots anyone took was 12. That's balance. I think KD's figured out efficient basketball. And that doesn't even include his defense. He's playing both ends of the floor. Nice.

- I think it was M Bibby, or maybe it was K Martin, driving the lane left to right. J Petro holds his position in front of the bucket arms straight up. Contact. Shot. No call. Sonics rebound going the other way. First time I ever remember J Petro getting any respect from a ref. J Petro has arrived. He is now officially a legitimate NBA big.

- C Wilcox is a great finisher.

- Wish R Swift would've played. Supposedly his knee is fine. What's the hold up?

- S Hawes looked good. His post moves, especially the footwork, remind me a little of Kevin McHale. The awesome player. Not the dumbass GM.

So anyone want to trade Petro these days?

This past offseason he was always mentioned as a "throw in" to make a trade work.

Glad to see the kid really riding high on his confidence.

I loved seeing Swift and Petro out on the floor at the same time against Chicago.

I hope to see more of it.

So if Kwame Brown and Crit can land Gasol maybe Kurt Thomas and West can land Deron Williams??? I'd even throw in the Suns 2008 pick just to make the deal too good to pass up from the Jazz point of view

Petro's development is easily the biggest surprise of the season for me. Besides the occasional French poster (who seem to believe that every French player will be godlike), I don't think anyone really saw it coming. I wasn't a huge fan of his, but he's proven me wrong and I'm quite happy for him.
