From Percy Allen's Blog
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sonics/2004186713_soni170.html

They have privately discussed a $350 million package

Finally. I've been waiting for this stupid plan to become public knowledge for forever now. I wonder if the approval to leak the framework of this plan was delayed until Stern or Bennett gave them a great chance to strike back, or if things are still in motion and something had to be put into the press just let people know that something is actually going on behind the scenes.

I wonder, because if you contrast Percy Allen's article with a very recent post by Brian Robinson over at SOS: http://sonicscentral.com/blog/?p=1690#more-1690...

The plan (at least as it's laid out in the Times article) may not be perfect, and it very well may not work, but given the constraints imposed by the citizenry it may be the best thing the City of Seattle can come up with. For the time being, I'm willing to give them credit for geting something in motion, realizing the value of the Sonics to the area (even if the realization's more reactive than proactive), and ultimately not caving to the pressure placed by Sternett to just get the team out of town.

I wish Bennett would just give up this ridiculous heist and sell the team. Heisley is DYING to sell the Grizzlies and they have probably the lowest attendance of any team in the NBA. They have no history with the city of Memphis. Bennett could probably even MAKE MONEY by selling the Supes to local ownership and making a go at the Grizzlies instead.

Gah... it's just such a douchebag move.

Hey Illuminati we really don't feel the Sonics possibly moving is some sort of joke.

:nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

So here's a wrinkle that has been brought up before but I want to address it again.

We have all heard about the "Good Faith Effort". Now want exactly is supposed to happen if the Okies don't fulfill the "Good Faith Effort"?

They are supposed to sell it back to the previous ownership group.

Well Howard doesn't want any part of it. But this Dennis Daugs fellow does and he was part of the original ownership group.

So obviously we have no idea if the "Good Faith Effort" has any specific performances written down but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. Along with Aubreys comments Daugs may actually have a shot at holding up the "Good Faith Effort" in court.

I love what is happening right now. Stern is starting to crack and speak when he doesn't need to. This is going to get really ugly, and I love it.

Just save yourself the embarrassment of being a scum bag/liar in court Bennett and sell the team.

A couple of days ago, Brian Robinson admitted/confided that the language of the "Good faith effort" agreement had no teeth and was basically a sham.

I would love for the Sonics to stay in Seattle but push came to shove and the Sonics to pack their bags and leave I would like to see them move to Vancouver.

Isn't it very close to you guys? NBA fans from Vancouver drive to Seattle to see NBA games.

I didn't mean to offend you.

Vancouver would be dope. Are you kidding? Thats honestly not bad at all!!

Would you prefer there or OKC? I think Illuminati's idea is a good one, but is there a better chance that the team stays in Seattle for long term or Vancouver after plans are set? The fanbase is key.

I hope they move to Jacksonville down in Florida. I don't feel like driving to Miami/Orlando to catch some hoop.

Ugh this talk of hoping they move somewhere is frustrating and ridiculous to read...this is the SEATTLE Supersonics forum. Take the rest of that ish elsewhere.
