Game Thread: Memphis Grizzlies @ Seattle Supersonics

Post#1 » by Det the Threat » Tue Feb 19, 2008 3:35 pm

Welcome to the world of rebuilding. Today, you'll see two teams trying very hard to not win all that much and achieve their goal of a very high draft selection this summer. In one corner, you've got the 13-38 Seattle Supersonics, with future stars like Kevin Durant and (hopefully)Jeff Green and in the other corner there are the Pau Gasol less Memphis Grizzlies, led by Rudy Gay and Mike Conley Jr.

Today is also a special day, as it's Kevin Durant bobblehead night and the first 10,000 in attendence will receive one of those bobblehead's. One lucky fan will also receive a golden one of those and therefore will get his seats upgraded to the front row, while also winning a meet and greet with the young Sonics star.

Also, you might see some history today, as Kurt Thomas might play his final game for the Sonics, with PJ Carlesimo changing the rotation's at the end of the week, and with all those KT trade rumors swirling around.

When and Where?

Tuesday, February 19th, 7:00 p. m. PT, Key Arena, Seattle, Washington

This game will be broadcasted by FSN NW in HD

I'm looking forward to this one..a shootout between KD and Miller, athletic big men going at each other (Wilcox vs. Warrick) and two centers who have a knack for rebounding.

I just think that Gay is gonna torch Green and that will be the difference in this game.

I could be wrong though, I hope I am.

I'm hoping for Green to start settling into his game and filling up the stat sheet. Would be nice, huh?

I'm looking forward to the short bench. I want about 3 or 4 guys to be magically missing. That would be a win in my book.

quick hook on swift. guess they want to ease him back in. but wilkins in ahead of jello-balls? i think we know what wilkins brings to the table. time to take a look at the other half of the french connection.

^^ i don't think gelabale brings much, and wilkens has been playing well and pretty controlled of late.
the duo of swift and petro is definately looking a lot better than it did at the start of the year.

well we haven't really seen gelabale play much. we have seen wilkins as a starter and off the bench. i just want to see what the kid can do with extended minutes.

That's typically what "flu like symptoms" means. But wait...how old is he? He's not old enough to drink...there must be some horrible, horrible mistake...

Sonics don't really seem to be missing a beat without him in there. This is the best game Earl's ever had as a Sonic. Trade Durant!

Maybe they did. Flu might be a cover.
