If one and only one Sonic had to be traded who would you like to see gone the most(other than Clay)?

For me it's Luke.

As I said in a previous post Earl has shown more in these last 5 games than Luke has shown his entire career.

Luke is entering his prime and should be getting better, yet watching him he simply seems to be stuck in a rut.

I could live with Luke going somewhere else and playing better, because I don't think even at his best he'll be all that great.

I think you're right in that Luke hasn't shown much for quite some time and that it wouldn't hurt us to trade him. It also seems pretty clear that he's lost the battle with Watson.

Though, i think the guy that has to go is Kurt Thomas, cause he's not going to be back with us anyways and could net us something solid in return or help us shed some money on Ridnour's or Watson's contracts.

I concur with Det 100%. While Ridnour has been a total loss since we drafted him, I don't see the PG position as having a logjam anywhere near as critical as the PF/C. As far as addition by subtraction goes I have to give it to KT. Following a close second is Nick Collison because I just hate his game (slow power forward without any power or blocking ability).

Good point for Kurt--he's the before the deadline trade (if we have to pick only one), although I love his game and his professionalism.

But Luke must go, too, and I'm afraid he won't be worth anything by the end of the year. He's proven to be an off the bench caliber player who is convinced that he's a starter. He obviously can't handle rebuilding, either. I'm beginning to think that Earl would be a good asset coming off the bench for someone like Rose (despite his starter's salary).

I'd love for Ridnour to go too, but I think there's a better chance that Watson has earned his way out of town and Luke will be the Sonics starting point come Thursday night.

I'm not sure about that one.
He'll be an expiring contract, starting this summer, and that's when i see his value being at an all time high.

Wallys value will be higher next season when his contract is going to be up.

I've been loyal to Ridnour for a while now, but it is getting harder. My only argument against trading him now is just that it would be a real "buy low" opportunity for teams. What do we honestly think we can get for him?

Hold on. If you are a playoff team and need an outside shooter for the playoff run, why wouldn't you want Wally, knowing full well that he can help you this year and will be a valuable trade asset next year? Isn't his value higher now than at the beginning of next season?

Not really.
Wally's got a huge contract and Presti surely doesn't wants to take on any longer contracts, which makes it hard for other teams to trade for him.

The best bet for Wally being traded is now, imo. This summer, his expiring contract for next season will be more valuable to Presti than any other team, unless he packages Z with another player with a longer deal for a larger one-year contract.
