Welcome back Brent Barry!

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.

Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've hot him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

So how many draft picks did the Sonics pick up for shuttling Kurt Thomas from Phoenix to San Antonio? That's some nice work.

Well, I'd say technically they got those picks for Rashard Lewis. They sent Phoenix their trade exception, obtained in the Lewis sign-and-trade. Cap relief is what Phoenix wanted, and a trade exception was the only way to get it. They couldn't have gotten it directly from San Antonio. But it's still some nice work, given that a sane Orlando front office would have signed Lewis for one less year and not traded the Sonics anything.

Ah, I see, but how many picks did they get from the Suns? Was it two first rounders? This is seriously ridiculously well done. As a Pacer fan, I'm jealous.

Yeah, two first-rounders. And we're optimistic that their value might have risen just a little after the Shaq-Marion trade.

I wish we would have got SA first this year instead of next year.

I think Barry really enjoyed Seattle, and I could see him going into the front office soon. He has a lot of personal and business connections here.

Good point. Sometimes I live in a vaccuum and forget that there will be no Seattle SuperSonics soon...

Chill. Elson must hate this. Barry will be fine its not a degrade at all he will be welcomed.

I will miss you Kurt! Your one of the GOOD centers the sonics have had, on a short list.

Nuggets fan... Must say great job by Sam Presti.

Including this years draft class (Durant and Green), you guys will have 8 first rounders over the span of 4 years (4 - Seattle, 2 - Phoenix, 1 - SA and 1 - Boston). And with a few more moves like moving Watson or Ridnour by 2009, you will be in position to have some great cap space.

Great return.

Kurt, best of luck! I wish you were on the Sonics a couple years ago to guard Duncan!
from ny, never been a fan of the knicks...
