Is there hope?

While many details remained hazy Friday, sources said the plan centers on a possible $300 million renovation of KeyArena, which would be split 50-50 between the unidentified private investors and taxpayers. The public portion would be split between the city and state.

Such a private contribution would be substantially more than previously offered by successive Sonics ownership groups that have sought taxpayer money for KeyArena or a new arena in Renton.

Please beg your state representatives to get this on the agenda before session closes. If you don't know who are your representatives (shame on you, first of all) you can look here: http://apps.leg.wa.gov/DistrictFinder/Default.aspx

Seriously, put some pressure on them.

yeah, i think there is hope. i haven't always felt that way, but i kind of do now. i keep coming back to the M's and Hawks. are the sonics any closer to being gone then those two teams where? so until they actually leave, yeah, there is some hope. but you are right elbowthrower, the fans have to really start making some noise.

thanks for the link.

I just wrote my state senator and representatives and asked them to put this proposal on the current legislative agenda.

I told them that we have until April before the owners vote on the move.

hi guys, i was wondering if any of you knew of a way to contact the NBA league office online?

they have a form on their website but it involves becoming some sort of NBA member (with a nickname to boot) that gives me the impression that it isn't the most serious feedback mechanism

I think the only way you can contact them other than by signing up is via snail mail.

Sometimes though, snailmail gets the message across better.
